May 11, 20205 yr It looks like quite a few AFs are having to turn to album tracks, so this will probably be one of the easiest rounds Slide could have! Now that I've read all the threads, you're probably right :P Lucky for him to have one hit single without a video.
May 11, 20205 yr I think Slide is reasonably popular from Calvin - yes it won't match one of his collabs with the likes of Rihanna or Ellie Goulding but it should be safe in this round and I think it'd be more popular than Under Control.
May 12, 20205 yr Author Round 3 of AF Idol 2.0 was unveiled: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=234051 As some of you were thinking, "Slide" was sent in this round. Please, choose 11 songs (including Calvin's) and post them in the comments of the thread. This round ends on May 15 at 5:59pm. BST and don't forget it's a double elimination.
May 15, 20205 yr Spectrum sounds like a great plan so long as it’s not being saved for a future round? This could also be an opportunity to snatch a big collab from another forum (Ellie, Rih, Dua) before they do it to Calvin
May 15, 20205 yr Spectrum sounds like a great plan so long as it’s not being saved for a future round? This could also be an opportunity to snatch a big collab from another forum (Ellie, Rih, Dua) before they do it to Calvin :lol:To my understanding, lead artists get priority, so I don't *think* Ellie would be able to take 'I Need Your Love' or 'Outside' for example, and Calvin wouldn't be able to take 'We Found Love'. 'One Kiss' is probably up in the air, however, given the '&' credit (like how 5H/Camila were able to take 'Señorita' first). Edit: the Dua thread are considering 'One Kiss' too for the same reason so this could be tense :kink: Edited May 15, 20205 yr by Rush
May 19, 20205 yr So, since I'm the first one to post here, if anyone's reading this before any other threads, round 5 is: ROUND 5: Worst single > For artist forums that are dedicated to one artist: The single MUST have finished bottom 3 in the artists rate (if there's an ultimate rate - skip past the non-singles) and if you're lucky enough to have a bottom 3 over the average of 5, then kudos - that's fair play. I searched for a rate of his and found this (correct me if there's a more recent one that should be used): 42 5.26 Open Wide (feat. Big Sean) 43 4.79 Off The Record (with Tinchy Stryder & Burns) 44 4.12 Hype (with Dizzee Rascal)Fun! I actually liked 'Open Wide', though from memory I feel like everyone disliked it in the chart show thread. I got nothing out of 'Hype' and don't remember a single thing about it, and I've never heard 'Off The Record' since it's not on Spotify here.
May 19, 20205 yr Lmao there's a lot of hatred towards some of Calvin's songs. We have an idea in mind but just need to come to a unanimous decision
May 19, 20205 yr I don't think Open Wide was ever anything more than a promo single? That'd throw Nuh Ready Nuh Ready in instead, not much more helpful :kink:
May 19, 20205 yr Open Wide despite the gross lyrics is a TUNE, I'd vote for it :kink: It was a single in the US! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Wide_(song)
May 19, 20205 yr These really are poor options to choose from! :( Out of the four that have been mentioned so far Open Wide is probably the least worst for me just because it's a vocal version of C.U.B.A. which was pretty good without the lyrics!
May 19, 20205 yr Open Wide despite the gross lyrics is a TUNE, I'd vote for it :kink: It was a single in the US! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Wide_(song) I'd still exclude it based on that (and the inner circle are gonna be scrutinising everything to make sure it's appropriate), other forums are ignoring tracks that were only pushed in one region and not globally (see Dua with Homesick, I'd say the same for 1D with More Than This, etc)
May 19, 20205 yr But it was a single, just because it wasn't one here? There's nothing in the rules of the round that says that.
