**UPDATE - Seeing as the listening parties were such a success (judging by the other forums that took on the idea too ^_^ ) we’ll have one for DISCO next Tuesday - a track by track review and of course a stream boost :cheer: **

After a conversation in the LoveAtFirstSightInc thread about how so many artists are doing listening parties on Twitter at the moment where they listen, comment and debate songs at the same time as their followers I thought it might be a good idea to try here? We often do rates but don’t always have a chance to discuss old forgotten album tracks etc.,

When:

TUESDAY 10th NOVEMBER @ 7.30pm

Album:

DISCO

How:

Stream ‘Let’s Get To It’ from Spotify, Apple etc., (Of course you can play your CD but it’s all about getting those streaming sales  ). I will also post a YouTube video link to each track for those that don’t have the album or a streaming app.

I'll be down for this! Will give me something to look forward to on a Friday night! Let's Get To It is so underappreciated too, I'd say it's my second favourite from her PWL years.

The first forum listening party is about to begin!

Grab a drink, listen along and get reviewing - are the tracks forgotten classics? Or better best forgotten?

There will be a gap between songs to allow people to listen and comment!

First track from the ‘Let’s Get To It’ album is ‘Word Is Out’

It’s only been in later years that I was able to appreciate WIO - I disliked it at the time (Although the limited edition vinyl was iconic!)
I found it really hard to buy on regular vinyl my local ship didnt get it in until about its 3rd week on the chart,, I remember worrying I wiuldnt be able to get it.

Track 2 ‘Give Me Just A Little More Tike’ returned Kylie to the upper end of the charts but for me confused the whole album campaign

I was never that fussed by 'Word is Out' either. I really like it now, although it's probably still the lower end of my lead single rank - testament to the high standard they've been!

The joys of tracking down Kylie physicals!

'Give Me Just a Little More Time' is my favourite single from the album, although it's the least representative! I think it probably showed a lack of complete faith in the album's direction as this felt like a step back to more typical Kylie territory and a safe bet. Still, it can be credited as the most memorable from the era as it's the album's only song that gets a look in on her compilation albums!

^^ Totally agree, it took Kylie back to what the fans wanted but not what she wanted and blurred the whole campaign and intended feel for the album.

I do like it but agree with all your points, it is very back ward step after word is out and the singles from rhythm of love.

I really like ‘Too Much Of A Good Thing’ - I think it shows the sound Kylie ultimately wanted to go for and she obviously progressed forward with this with KM94.

At the time these kind of album tracks I was pretty meh about and I’m sure after a couple of plays I didn’t revisit the album for years.

TMOAGT if they had kept more this style the album would have progressed better, I did find it a hard album to get into but I did eventually. I did like this though when i first heard it.

Even now it still sounds ok, it’s obviously very much of its time but it’s still a bit of a bop.

'Too Much of a Good Thing' is a highlight! It always struck me how dominant the backing vocals are, it's like they're almost overshadowing Kylie! That's another reason why I don't think it would have done much better than 'Word is Out' as lead single.

^^ The backing vocals are almost like a co-feature or group! Definitely wouldn’t have worked as a single as like you say it’s didn’t scream Kylie.
