It's funny how the album version probably would've worked better as a single than the single version.

Totally this - the album version is the superior version!

Where Is the Feeling ended the albums campaign.

It was already over tbh - I think they just threw a single out to see if it could spike interest in the album and sales.

The gap was a big error of judgement and it had a negative outcome for the single and album.

Track 5 - Put Yourself In My Place

The ICONIC 2nd single to be lifted from KM94, peaking at a frustrating #11 in the UK.

i was so disappointed with the chart performance of where is the feeling it just sank in the charts so quickly, it was another single i found hard to get at the time in my local record shop.
'Put Yourself in My Place' is lush! It was a great follow-up to 'Confide in Me' - whilst that was daring and unexpected, this shows that Kylie can really master a ballad, as her previous efforts hadn't really gone down well in the past.

Put Yourself in My Place is an album highlight.

Stunning slow beats backed with stunning vocals from Kylie and seductive video.

The sweeping guitars really bring the song together.

Put Yourself in My Place was deserving of a Top 10 placement.

This song could easily blend into the music in the charts today.

Put yourself in my place I always liked but never loved it but as I have said a few times the song has really connected with me in the last year or two, I much prefer it to confide in me but not sure if it would have worked as the lead single. It also has one of kylies best videos. Its def a song that has moved up the ranks in my own fave kylie songs as of late but I still prefer breathe, I always pit these 2 songs together as I think there is similarities. These style of songs work well for Kylie.

Way way up there as one of my favourite Kylie songs of all time  Such a great song and deserved more than it’s #11 peak.

I love how she totally changed style between CIM and PYIMP which probably didn’t help the album campaign tbh. When she released this I remember thinking it was as if she had gone back to her pop roots just an adult version.

I hear that you're in love nooow... *lighters up* :music:

Listening to this now it still sounds stunning - such a career Kylie highlight
I wonder which Kylie prefers between Confide In Me and Put Yourself in My Place.

I hope its put yourself in my place.

This probably killed the album more than anything though - it missed the Top 10 and Deconstruction from this point onwards I felt didn’t really know what to do with an act like Kylie - was she a pop star, a dance act, a ballad singer? Could she shake off her pop image and should she stick to it.

I think whilst Kylie always says Deconstruction were a supportive label they didn’t really seem to have the expertise on how to manage and market her transition from bubble gum pop.
