'Dangerous Game' is an album highlight - I feel like the whole song is gearing up for that huge vocal towards the end! Honestly, wig = flew!
This probably killed the album more than anything though - it missed the Top 10 and Deconstruction from this point onwards I felt didn’t really know what to do with an act like Kylie - was she a pop star, a dance act, a ballad singer? Could she shake off her pop image and should she stick to it.

I think whilst Kylie always says Deconstruction were a supportive label they didn’t really seem to have the expertise on how to manage and market her transition from bubble gum pop.

Ya i dont think they fully knew where to place kylie in the market and they always seemed to struggle with her.

Dangerous Game, I like the drum beat going through the song.

It does outline that Kylie can deliver great ballads.

There is a soft relaxing tone in the song.

An ideal relaxation song.

Dangerous game is good, it’s a really tender song and brothers in rhythm did a great production on this. With dangerous game you can really hear kylies great vocals which often get overlooked.

Honestly listening to the album in full makes me appreciate DG much more than listening to it randomly on its own. It totally fits in with the album when you listen to it on its entirety - great song.
Ooof, sorry that "gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame" is painful. It's a shame because I do like the rest of the song, but that was a choice.

I always think the same :kink:

'Automatic Love' works great as a breather between the powerhouses of 'Put Yourself in My Place'/'Dangerous Game' and the dancier songs that close the album. It's so soothing!
Automatic Love, another chill out song, I really enjoy the piano and heavy backing vocals on this track.
Automatic love was one of those songs that kinda went over me on the album but listening to the album again I like it way more now, I can see this song playing away in the background of a posh lounge in a hotel

Again AL doesn’t sound quite right when listening to it outside the context of the album but it’s a great song - I feel like I’m finding a new appreciation of KM94 26 years after release :drama: :kink:

More for a fine dining restaurant

Automatic Lover is another odd one for me - I like it, but like If I Was Your Lover it just feels unfinished to me. Like it needs a final mixing? Maybe it's intentional as they wanted Kylie to sound more "unpolished"?

I think it may have been a conscious decision to get away from the generic, polished pop sound of PWL.
