Very good news! :cheer: RSD releases always stress me out a bit, as usually they are quite exclusive, so I hope I'll manage to get a copy.

Awesome and closer is a masterpiece  I can't believe some of you don't like the album cover it's her best album cover and it's so stunning and fits the vibe
Nice to see it finally get the treatment.

Hope Schizophonic is next

Shizophonic was set to be re-released a few years ago, but Geri put a halt to it because she was going to release new music herself and didn't want it to be overshadowed :arrr:

I'm still baffled at them leaving a whole side blank. I love NS, have always wanted it on vinyl so will buy it but it is still mind boggling to not include at least the b-sides.

UMC didn't put ANY bonus tracks on the various vinyl releases of Spice, Spiceworld, Forever & Greatest Tits.

The fact that they included Follow Me as well as the single versions of NBTSA & ITTY is a bonus in itself.

I'm sure the etching will be a nice touch.

I SCREAMED  :teresa:

But in all seriousness, no it isn't *a nice touch*, it actually is quite wasteful and a clear bad decision. If they didnt want to put more tracks on, they could have easily spread the already existing tracklist over the 4 sides and the quality of the sound would be objectively better.

Further to that, vinyl production is already quite tough and bad for the environment so not making the most of it sounds awful to me.

It is quite a baffling decision, imo... I might wait for the wider release and see how that compares actually...

Then they would have needed to add a 2nd vinyl and make it more expensive for the Spice Girls releases. It is exactly why they didn't add the extra tracks to the spice25 vinyls to keep them at a reasonable price. This NS being a double vinyl is likely to be £30 or more already and has 1 side of a vinyl completely empty. It is a waste and we will also be paying for the wasted side too.

Do we know how many copies are (roughly) needed in order to crack the Albums Chart Top 100 these days?

Recently 1,300 - 1,400!

Approaching 900 to go Top 200... hopefully she can at least do that. If it re-entered the album would finally achieve its 100th week in the UK Top 200!

This release should easily return the album for its 100th week Top 200.

That said I think it will comfortably make a Top 100 return.

Emma released her album on record store day in 2019 and I see to remember it making the album market much stronger that week.

Yeah it was a mistake as some albums that were released that week as part of the Record Store Day campaign did prevent My Happy Place from going Top10 <_<

Northern Star should easily get into the Top200 for sure, if lucky it could go Top100

I think the price and availability will have a big deciding factor on if it charts or not tbh.

I didn't know that! :o

Hopefully, with a fan-driven campaign that will be assisted by streaming & downloads, we can get it to spend another week in the UK Top 200. :)

  • 3 weeks later...
Shame she couldn't keep up the quality :( Imagine 3-5 albums of this quality!!! She would have been the female Robbie.

Yeah it was such a nose dive after this, she never quite recovered in terms of quality. I guess the latest album is her best since, but after 20 years of middle of the road pop, that isnt saying much...

I will buy this vinyl for sure!!

Ya the nose dive was big after this album, while I prefer reason I was really disappointed with chart run and sales at the time.

Just a little over 5 weeks to go until the Northern Star vinyl is released. I'm so excited for it!

It's on Amazon France.

I wonder if it'll appear on all Amazon countries soon
