The Orange vinyl is also the 3rd best selling pre order at the moment on HMV.com. that's a very good sign. The Marble Vinyl is 51st best selling pre-order

Considering that it’s got good availability everywhere and the official store has such a head start over Amazon I’m impressed to see it holding the #1 spot there (and doing well at HMV as mentioned above).

Fingers crossed for at least a Top 20 re-entry (Is that too much to ask)

Its hard to call chart wise as the sales are split, i honestly think if they had everything ready to ship on the week of release it would have a chance of a top 10 return, but hopefully a top 20 re entry is possible.

The additional picture discs are a bonus though - it’s just what they planned to sell in the run up to release sold out in half a day

It shouldn’t have any impact on their expectations for opening week as it seemingly took them by total surprise the demand for them.

Hopefully it all goes well, top 20 looks likely I think, that time of year she might need 5k for top 10 but might be a bit of a stretch.

I cannot not see it going top 10 to be honest......

4 different vinyl variants.

They just need to release a itunes download cheaply to confirm it

I’m not convinced of a Top 10 - below is what is released the same day (I’ve put their last release and year in brackets - some of them though it reflects a live or hits album rather than a studio album).

It’s a busy release week plus the likes of Harry Styles, Ed etc., will still be riding high.

The rescheduled Mercury Music Prize is on the 18th now so whoever wins could also get a huge boost.

It's very likely at least 6 of those will chart higher than Kylie plus as you mentioned Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles will be on the top 10 aswell, so there might be a very small chance of top 10 although unlikely.

Lets see, let's see.

BMG will have worked on this campaign I am sure. Obviously lack of new CD will be the struggle.

I think the orange vinyl will have sold quite a few. Only George Michael and Louis Tomlinson are higher selling pre order on hmv website at the moment. The bundles will have sold well on her website

Could there be another surprise?

Ya a top 20 for IP would still be great, this upcoming release should at least add another 5k to its total so that good, I'd just love IP to reach hold but it will probably never happen. It will also be interesting too how the charts company list the album as technically it will be the albums first time charting under the name of Impossible Princess. I'm also hoping kylue will promote the release but not sure she will.

I think the below will all be ahead -

Taylor Swift

Arctic Monkeys

Architects

Andrea Bocelli

A-Ha

Not sure what the hype is like for Loyle Carner?

The 1975 and RHCP release the week prior and could still be hanging around, plus the Mercury Music awards boost as all acts are either performing live on the night or have pre-recorded a live performance so that will give Harry Styles, Sam Fender etc., a boost.

I think sales will be higher than normal due to the period but with competition IP will chart lower (even though with the same sales at another point in the year it would have been an easy Top 10).

Ultimately whatever BMG have planned (and they’ve done a good job) they are putting a 25 year old readily available album up against new releases.

I’m confident of a Top 15/20 but I’m not getting over excited on its chart prospects - there will be almost zero interest from the general public and it’s achieved it’s aim of being a big cash driver for Kylie and BMG whist also giving the fans exactly what they want.

I guess if we knew how many Vinyl had been made then this would help us. What if it is 4 variants with only 1000 made each? Then she will have no chance. You would hope at least 2k of each made

While i would love to see IP chart as high as possible in a way its not that type of release, im just delighted that we are getting the vinyl as we have waited so long for it. The release does have further potential if they were really chasing chart glory, i think if that was the agenda they would do bundles with cassettes, cds and vinyls or maybe do signed cds to get the extra sales etc. One thing i would have liked on this vinyl release would be the inclusion of where the wild roses grow, i know it wasnt part of the album but the song is heavily associated with the IP era and for Kylie and it was the song that really did close this "indie" chapter of Kylies career and also responsible for Kylie making the decision to return to her pop roots.

They could release IP with a bonus live cd of intimate and live as on that tour she performed a good few IP tracks or picking IP tracks from different tours and put together a cd.
