Posted May 9, 20205 yr Now we have an actual date confirmed for the 29th And (at the time of typing) we don’t have a chart battle on our hands I thought I’d make a thread on what’s were thinking the album will sell in week one and where it’ll chart. (I know it’s not the most important thing but still wondering opinions on this) I’m thinking we could push for around 35K in the Uk for a #1 debut. I have a feeling we could get slightly better debut sales than both Joanne and ASIB or around the same level. I can’t see it matching ARTPOPs 65K but I do think longevity wise it’ll outlast that on the charts. I’m thinking a UK and US #1 debut. Unsure on the US sales though.... maybe something like 225K.
May 9, 20205 yr I'm really hoping for #1 in the UK and US. Maybe around 20k in the UK and no idea for how the US is looking - 200k? (We can do a poll on the actual release week but can use this for discussion in the mean time :D)
May 9, 20205 yr Author I’m thinking this will be her album to get the biggest streaming sales for week one too! Joanne got something like 4K from streams didn’t it  I think we could push for around 10K sales from streams this time around if not more but I don’t wanna get too carried away as I feel her actual pure sales will be what will benefit an act like Gaga for week one but her becoming more successful on streaming is what’s making me think this will have a longer chart run and it not being a Q4 release too.
May 9, 20205 yr In terms of longevity, it really depends on what sort of hit the second single is. A lot of the streams will fall after week 1 unless the single is a hit which will keep numbers ticking!
May 10, 20205 yr With the merch available and various formats, I think Chromatica will do over 200k in the US. UK is harder to predict but over 30k wouldbe great.
May 10, 20205 yr 20k would be tragic, but i suppose physical sales will be down due to lockdown. Maybe around 28k?
May 10, 20205 yr Author Gaga will have a lot of fans who’ll be buying from her own store and getting more than one copy too so I think that could help her out. Very intrigued to see her pre orders.
May 10, 20205 yr Author Read on Twitter that this was #1 on iTunes preorders. It was #1 on mine for a while but often gets overtaken by newly announced albums or albums released nearer to hers. It’s the most pre ordered album set for release on May 29th though!
May 10, 20205 yr How do we view the preorder chart? If you go on the iTunes Store main page and scroll a bit it should be there x I feel like, even with the lockdown 20k would be a bit low. Joanne did more and that was the least hype of her career, ik the physical (buy physical by Dula Peep on iTunes) market has collapsed since but it'll have been mostly loyal fans who bought it then and they'll still get it now. I'm gonna say about 9k on streams and 22k pure and between 28-35k overall ^_^
May 12, 20205 yr Over 30k would be amazing, but I can't see it happening, especially in the current circumstances with limited shopping and travel allowed
May 12, 20205 yr I think around 30k too. 20k would be too on the low side, although an easy #1 all the same.
May 12, 20205 yr https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=...edirect=mobile Lady Gaga had only a few big stadium shows to offer fans; her records may not be bulletproof, but her touring, thus far, has been. The question is, how long will it stay that way? Her 5/29 drop date is now official; a ticket bundle should assure her of a #1 bow—unless something drops that can do 200k first week, which would likely be a stretch for Gaga at this point. Then again, it would be unwise to underestimate the star, her fans or the market prowess of IGA. Will she cancel/postpone her scheduled dates once the ticket bundle is verified? What a sour loser bitch!!!
May 12, 20205 yr I think between 25 and 28k in the UK as the current situation will dampen her sales.
May 12, 20205 yr Definitely both #1 but I think sales in the UK will be dire... we all thought Dua's first week album sales would be huge and it kind of tanked due to the current album sales situation :(
May 12, 20205 yr Yeah that's my thought too. I can't see sales being decent by any means. Enough to get the #1 unless someone else releases, but the numbers will be very.. eek! Oh well, it's a troubling time for many, so I'm just happy the music will be a release for many!
May 12, 20205 yr #1 in both the US and UK UK: 25k - 40k first week sales. US: 250 - 320k first week sales Edited May 12, 20205 yr by StupidLove
