May 10, 20205 yr Ooh very much looking forward to this - some very open questions which could lead to lots of different answers although I can see myself coming near the bottom tbh!!
May 10, 20205 yr Author 1. Name a song with a capital city in its title VHrLPs3_1Fs 9 points: Budapest - Dan17F1, Riser, MrAndrewMan, Scene, Zarate, Jordan Lee, StoneDragon, KingRollo, coi, Dobbo 4 points: Take Me Back To London (Ed Sheeran & Stormzy) - :’), n4yr, Bre, LewisGT, dan-G 2 points: From Paris To Berlin (Infernal) - awardinary, vibe, girlsaloudjunkie 2 points: Havana (Camila Cabello) - jimwatts, SamJudd, Jade 1 Point: Vienna (Ultravox) - Bjork, Mack. 1 point: London Bridge (Fergie) - xajnipi, j*hq, NON-SCORERS London (M24 ft. Tion Wayne) - PeteFromLeeds LDN (Lily Allen) - West Paris (Chainsmokers) - Paulgilb WRONG ANSWERS Sweet Dreams My LA Ex (Rachel Stevens) - M4NGO ______________________________________________________________________________ George Ezra's Budapest is the most popular answer here scoring people 9 points. Recent hit Take Me Back To London scores 4 points. A few overachievers giving us two capital cities with Infernal's Paris to Berlin! M4NGO needs to go back and re-take their geography GCSE however, answering Sweet Dreams My LA Ex. The capital of the USA is of course Washington DC! Edited May 10, 20205 yr by chrissmith276
May 10, 20205 yr Not a great start, but given that my initial thoughts were "Left My Heart In Tokyo" by Mini Viva and "Paris Is Burning" by Ladyhawke, I shall take one point!
May 10, 20205 yr Author 2. Name a song that spent more than 10 weeks in the Top 40 but did not break the Top 20 P00HMxdsVZI 6 points: Truth Hurts (Lizzo) - :’), vibe, Bjork, jimwatts, King Rollo, LewisGT, dan-G 5 points: Know Your Worth (Khalid/Disclosure) - Dan17F1, MrAndrewMan, n4yr, Scene, PeteFromLeeds, Mack. 4 points: What A Man Gotta Do (Jonas Brothers) - Bre, M4NGO, Zarate, Jordan Lee, West 1 point: Amazed (Lonestar) - Paulgilb, Dobbo 1 point: A Million Dreams (Hugh Jackman etc.) - j*hq, StoneDragon NON-SCORERS Never Enough (Loren Allred) - Riser Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) (Shakira) - xajnipi Ritual (Tiesto, Jonas Blue & Rita Ora) - Sam Judd Panic Room (Camelphat) - coi Bangarang (Skrillex) - Jade WRONG ANSWERS Tequila (Jax Jones) - awardinary Baby Shark (Pinkfong) - girlsaloudjunkie ______________________________________________________________________________ A trio of fairly recent songs scoring the most points here. Nice to see Amazed being picked by a couple of people as that is an absolute tune! Tequila is a wrong answer here for awardinary as it has only spent 8 weeks in the Top 40 so far. ANd also Baby Shark is wrong for girlsaloudjunkie as it peaked at #6!
May 10, 20205 yr Ugh 'Bangarang' still sticks in my mind as the iconic non-top 20 long runner :( well I'm glad I did go for recency for other questions now
May 10, 20205 yr Author Name a song by an individual Spice Girl that did not make it to #1 31mlEEs9_Vk 10 points: Look At Me (Geri) - Dan17F1, Riser, :’), MrAndrewMan, Paulgilb, Scene, Bjork, West, jimwatt, StoneDragon, Jade 9 points: Out Of Your Mind (Victoria) - xajnipi, n4yr, Bre, Zarate, SamJudd, King Rollo, coi, Dobbo, LewisGT, dan-G 1 point: Maybe (Emma) - j*hq, girlsalousjunkie NON-SCORERS Scream If You Wanna Go Faster (Geri) - awardinary When You’re Gone (Mel C) - M4NGO What I Am (Emma) - Vibe Not Such An Innocent Girl (Victoria) - Jordan Lee Tell Me (Mel B) - PeteFromLeeds Desire (Geri) - Mack. ______________________________________________________________________________ Only 3 songs here scoring points. Look At Me and Out Of Your Mind are by far the most popular answers with Geri's debut just edging it out. Edited May 10, 20205 yr by chrissmith276
May 10, 20205 yr I don't follow the charts closely enough these days to pick up on some of those such as Lizzo and Jonas Brothers fitting the criteria, my mind just jumped to The Greatest Showman as I recalled many of those songs sticking around for weeks and weeks on end. If only it wasn't slightly split between two songs :P
May 10, 20205 yr Of course the Spice Girls swiftly saved me *.* 'Look At Me' really stands out as a #2 debut for Geri ahead of a string of #1s!
May 10, 20205 yr M4NGO needs to go back and re-take their geography GCSE however, answering Sweet Dreams My LA Ex. The capital of the USA is of course Washington DC! Oops haha I completely forgot we were looking for a capital and just tried to think of a city
May 10, 20205 yr Author 4. Name a song with a planet in its name d4-1ASpdT1Y 7 points: Venus (Lady Gaga / Bananarama) - :’), n4yr, vibe, Bjork, girlsaloudjunkie, King Rollo, Dobbo, Jade 6 points: Earth Song (Michael Jackson) - Paulgilb, M4NGO, Zarate, Jordan Lee, StoneDragon, SamJudd, LewisGT 6 points: Life On Mars (David Bowie) - Riser, Scene, j*hq, West, jimwatts, coi, dan-G 3 points: Earth (Lil Dickie) - Dan17F1, MrAndrewMan, Bre, PeteFromLeeds 1 point: Drops Of Jupiter (Train) - xajnipi, awardinary NON-SCORERS Heaven Is A Place On Earth (Belinda Carlisle) - Mack. ______________________________________________________________________________ Venus (Gaga / Bananarama) just edges out classics by Michael Jackson and David Bowie. Only one non-scorer here! Edited May 10, 20205 yr by chrissmith276
May 10, 20205 yr The Buzzjack poll for favourite non top 20 hit from last year helped me for question 2. Out Of Your Mind stuck out for Q3 as it was part of a well publicised chart battle between Victoria and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Edited May 10, 20205 yr by King Rollo
May 10, 20205 yr Venus (Gaga / Bananarama) just edges out classics by Michael Jackson and David Bowie. Only one non-scorer here! But Venus by Gaga and Venus by Bananarama are two completely different songs! How come they get combined as one answer? EDIT: Yeah thinking about it, I suppose it makes sense as we're just naming a song rather than a specific song. Edited May 10, 20205 yr by M4NGO
May 10, 20205 yr ^That does look a little weird since the various Earth songs aren't combined? I'm guessing some people didn't specify the artist perhaps.. "Venus" was my first thought but I changed because I thought a huge David Bowie hit was a better answer than a Lady Gaga promo single
May 10, 20205 yr I just put Venus for my answer. I was thinking of Bananarama. I didn't know about the Lady Gaga song.
May 10, 20205 yr Author 6. Name an artist that has featured/collaborated with Justin Bieber on a track y83x7MgzWOA 20 points: Ed Sheeran - Riser, :’), MrAndrewMan, n4yr, Paulgilb, awardinary, M4NGO, vibe, Zarate, Bjork, j*hq, Jordan Lee, girlsaloudjunkie, West, StoneDragon, SamJudd, jimwatts, King Rollo, coi, LewisGT, dan-G 3 points: Ariana Grande - Dan17F1, Bre, Dobbo, Jade 1 point: Quavo - Scene, PeteFromLeeds NON-SCORERS Skrillex - xajnipi Usher - Mack. ______________________________________________________________________________ A massive point scorer here with Ed Sheeran dominating this one! Edited May 10, 20205 yr by chrissmith276
May 10, 20205 yr surprised at Q1,thought Vienna was the obvious answer :D being the best song of the 80s :D Edited May 10, 20205 yr by Bjork
