May 10, 20205 yr Author What an era for music videos! 'Express Yourself' is a favourite of mine because of its influence from 'Metropolis' but can I vote for anything other than 'Like a Prayer'? No, I can't.

May 14, 20205 yr 1) Express Yourself 2) Oh Father 3) Like a Prayer 4) Cherish 5) Dear Jessie Finally giving 'Express Yourself' a vote! :cheer: The cinematography and set designs makes the video so grand and impressive. Madonna's styling and choreography are clearly striking and iconic, but the way they're used to explore sexuality and deconstruct gender stereotypes makes it all the more special. The video for 'Oh Father' really drives the story home. A moving, sometimes difficult, watch, but finishing with a poignant, hopeful end, much like the song itself. 'Like a Prayer' is obviously a classic with its powerful imagery, storyline and message, but I don't think the execution flows as well as her other classic music videos. I know it copies the style of a play so some elements are simplified but that just takes me out of the video sometimes. 'Cherish' and 'Dear Jessie' are quite simple in comparison but they compliment their songs well.
