April 10, 20223 yr Been listening through to episodes of the Inside the Groove podcast that I hadn't listened to yet and learnt that 'Dear Jessie' had an alternative instrumental, notably with a drum machine. There's fanmade uploads of the filtered vocals from the finished song put over this alternative instrumental to give an idea of what the song would may have sounded like and I think it works great! April 25, 20223 yr Im in a big like a prayer song phase at the moment and listening to it alot, its such a great song, i especially love the 2nd half of the song, its easily my fave Madonna single.
January 17, 20232 yr Donna DeLory's debut album is now on Spotify, which means the original 'Just a Dream' (which was originally intended for Madonna's 'Like a Prayer' album) is now available: I love this song! I could picture Madonna singing it too but I guess I can see why it was left off of this album.

January 18, 20232 yr I think it fits sonically, it has a similar rhythm to ‘Till Death Do Us Part’, but I can see why it would be left off in favour of the more hard-hitting or empowering themes of the album.
January 18, 20232 yr Not keen on Just a Dream, so glad it didn't make Like a Prayer. It feels more like a poor relation to Gambler. The drum machine version of Dear Jessie (sorry, only just seen this). The start sounds like a "sped-up" version of something. April 24, 20241 yr I really appreciate LAP the song, but I've never loved it. It wouldn't be in my top 50 fav M songs, and I really don't know why.... I do love how much critical acclaim the track gets, critics often cite it as her best song, but for me, it's not even close. Still, the album is a total banger from start to finish, and I still listen to it now.

July 23, 2024Jul 23 Looks like there's a silver vinyl version of the album being released. It's not too expensive but I feel like it's a disappointing release, it doesn't mention anything about being remastered for a start - and I was hoping for something more interesting tbh.
