low positions sell nothing, it's pointless to be excited at a song being at #1135 which is just 1 sale

but the top songs still do 1K a day

actually iTunes sales have been better now since the quarantine than they've been in ages

Think About Things probably stands a better chance than anything since the streaming era began to take off organically post-Eurovision. I thought it had gone viral on TikTok? Shame that exposure hasn't resulted in it being a bigger streaming hit so far.

 

Lots of Eurovision songs from the last few years could have been big hits if radio supported them - Arcade and Soldi from last year, Frans' If I Were Sorry, which was doing well on Spotify anyway but had no radio support to push it higher. It wouldn't hurt Radio 2 at least to put Think About Things on the a-list.

I hope we always have iTunes tbh even if sales are low and they don’t contribute that much to the chart it’s still a big part of how I buy music. If we got rid of iTunes charity tracks (like the two most recent #1s) would get next to no chart position as well unless they brought back the actual CD :lol:

BBC had a huge night for Eurovision. It's hardly surprising that they're entering when Eurovision songs always get a boost. The difference being that because of the current situation they had a mix of the classics as well as showcasing some of the entrants from this year, so there are more songs being benefitted.
