May 18, 20205 yr Love these remixes ITG Over and Over are the best!! Spotlight is a lovely addition !!
May 18, 20205 yr Author I am listening to this album now! I don't think i've ever listened to it in full before? 'Spotlight' is very underrated by me - I never return to it because it's so tucked away from her studio albums and greatest hits compilations! The run of that into 'Holiday' is great!
May 19, 20205 yr Author So this is a FANTASTIC listen and I've been sleeping on it for far too long. Definitely going to be a gym listening album in the future: wall-to-wall bangers, all perfectly blended into each other. And it's so great to hear 'Where's The Party' in the mix too, it's a real favourite of mine from True Blue!
June 11, 20205 yr I too completed my first listen to the album today and I really enjoyed it! It's a great mix of feel-good dance music, I love how the production is allowed to breathe and how the tracks flow into one another (I'm a sucker for a great transition!). The new mix of 'Where's the Party?' is so good!
June 12, 20205 yr I really like the second side of this, was listening to it earlier today. It's only 3 tracks but the run of Over and Over / Into the Groove / Where's the Party really works well and I can just imagine people strutting their 80s stuff to it.
June 13, 20205 yr I still remember buying it in 87 when it came out and being utterly disappointed, the think I like the most is the album cover, and thats it don't think I've listened to that album again ever since 87 :D
June 13, 20205 yr What was disappointing about it for you? I think it kinda does what it says on the tin.
November 17, 20204 yr Author @1328670486289649669 Didn't realise just how successful this album was! She was unstoppable during this time wasn't she?
November 17, 20204 yr I think the concept of a remix album was still relatively new at the time and the album acted as the first type of retrospective for Madonna, which may explain why it was such a success. It's second only to Michael Jackson's 1997 release 'Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix' with over 6 million sales.
November 18, 20204 yr I really love this album You Can Dance it truly fantastic. Madonna did a fantastic job on this album.
November 16, 20222 yr @1592898941544460288 Spotlight (You Can Dance Single Edit) - 4:34 Holiday (You Can Dance Single Edit) - 4:15 Everybody (You Can Dance Single Edit) - 4:37 Physical Attraction (You Can Dance Single Edit) - 3:56 Over and Over (You Can Dance Single Edit) - 3:58 Into the Groove (You Can Dance Single Edit) - 4:49 Where's the Party (You Can Dance Single Edit) - 4:13
November 16, 20222 yr Ooooo interesting! I'll definitely take a listen to this as the versions are largely better than the originals.
November 16, 20222 yr This is actual exciting as a release as its 7 different songs at a single length and therefore easy to listen to and up for repeated listens. 15-20 years ago this could have been a mini-album with Spotlight released to promote and been massive as a kind of "reissue/hits" retrospective.
November 16, 20222 yr Are everybody , physical attraction and ITG same as whats on the remix album? Similar time lengths, just out by a few seconds.
November 17, 20222 yr Listening on the way to work!! How can you not smile! Not sure the remastering is the same quality as on FEL.
