They have a much harder set of December fixtures so it's entirely plausible they'll be 20+ pts behind you lot come new year which would absolutely be insurmountable. Plus you've only lost once in 50-odd games or something ridiculous so not gonna get 3/4 out of nowhere.

I really feel Leicester are the main challengers now, they don't look like losing any game atm. Their 2 back to backs against City & Pool at the month end are massive.

I'll wait and see how Leicester handle the double header against City and Liverpool before saying whether they are realistic challengers. They're going to probably need 90 points which is possible of course, but they don't have the same depth of City and Liverpool. Yes I know they are not in Europe too which could help. That Boxing Day game against Liverpool feels massive though.. crazy sayying that with over half a season to go!

Also hate playing against new managers, but Liverpool are at home. It would take something truly special to get a draw never mind a victory.

Totally agree about Son's goal - absolutely insane.

I suppose what is happening to Manchester City now is karma for how they performed by this time 2 seasons ago when they were more than 10 points ahead at the top of the table before Christmas in the season they got 100 points. Just a shame it's Liverpool who are benefiting from this

Everyone puts the City form down to Laporte, but I think it's deeper than that. I mean they got 100 points with Stones/Otameni at the back! Last season we pushed them all the way and I think that is what kept City fighting. This year they recruited poorly in the summer and seemingly at the moment are relying on KDB to do something ridiculous. That said, I think the loss of Sane is absolutely huge, that cannot be understated.

Liverpool are coming up to a tricky run of fixtures now, so the points buffer is very welcome!

Big games for Leicester too vs City away on the 21st and home to us on Boxing Day! Plus we don't play league games while we are away in the next few weeks so the gap will be a lot less come Xmas.

If they beat Liverpool and City then they deserve to be in the title talk. If Liverpool carry on at the rate they are going at, Leicester are going to need 90+ points. We only miss one league game, which thankfully is Leicester vs City, so the optimum outcome for that game is a draw!

When do we leave then? Would be good if klopp made it into a mid season break and let them have it easy in the warm climate, may even refresh us for the Xmas games? Although we always do poor after the international breaks and all so you never know.
It’s still incredible to see Leicester six points ahead of City right now, Rodgers has done an absolute incredible job and even if they finish third (which I think they will) then not one single fan can be disappointed.

I think we leave on the 16th and we're back on the 21st/22nd iirc. It is essentially a warm weather training camp, the first game Liverpool I expect will rotate a fair amount and if we win that game for the final we'll play our full strength team, which will be a much tougher game. The thing is with our Xmas games this year Liverpool actually have decent rest and recovery times especially in comparison to our opponents.

Everton are continuing to assess candidates to succeed sacked Marco Silva on a permanent basis despite caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson's flying start - with Shanghai SIPG coach Vitor Pereira high on their list.

Hope we win it though, one trophy we've never been able to bag!

As poor as West Ham are, today they came up against someone even worse. Having seen both Watford and Norwich play all right against "bigger" teams earlier today, the outlook looks bleak for Southampton at the moment.

That's true, but Soton did recently beat both of them so if they nick the odd win against the teams around them then they'll still be in a good position to survive.

Think there's no really "nailed on" to go down yet this season actually. Even Watford playing away at Liverpool today had some great chances to get a result!

China's state broadcaster CCTV has removed Sunday's Arsenal-Manchester City game from its schedule after comments made by Gunners midfielder Mesut Ozil, state media has reported.

Ozil posted on social media about the treatment of Uighur Muslims in China.

What a fantastic job Sheffield United are doing.

Do you think if Wilder wasn't a Yorkshire man and from a European country he would be linked with a big 6 club?
