September 3, 20204 yr Wowzers, I know of course they're all gonna need to gel but if Chelsea's new signings all click quickly I don't see why they can't be a real threat even with a dodgy defence and GK. They'll be like Liverpool 13/14!

I know there will loads of shit said against him, but I applaud him for calling the President out. It puts the current President in an awkward situation now.
September 4, 20204 yr It does make me think though he'll surely be leaving next season which was still unthinkable a few weeks back. Then again, Barca could end up having a good season next year after all. Suarez off to Juve though!
September 4, 20204 yr Messi was never going to leave this year, this is all just to distract from Barcelona being a mess right now. I actually expect Messi to be a one club man and retire there.

Then again, Barca could end up having a good season next year after all. Suarez off to Juve though! I think it depends on the new club president. I could see him staying another couple of years, or I could see him going to City/PSG for 2 seasons and then off to the MLS on silly money..

September 5, 20204 yr Everton have signed Brazilian midfielder Allan from Napoli on a three-year contract for a fee believed to be around £21.7m. Was he their replacement for Jorginho?
September 5, 20204 yr Was he their replacement for Jorginho? He was immense for them a couple of seasons ago. The Everton midfield signings are certainly good on paper, but they are also fall in to that trap West Ham love to fall in to as well - let's sign a big name expensive player on massive wages whose been decimated by injuries in an attempt to get one-two good seasons out of them.
September 5, 20204 yr I read an article on net spend a few weeks ago and was surprised to see Everton are one of the biggest spenders transfer wise
September 5, 20204 yr I read an article on net spend a few weeks ago and was surprised to see Everton are one of the biggest spenders transfer wise The finance rules have been laxed this year, otherwise I doubt they would have spent anything like they are. I think I read an article they made a loss of £110m in the last financial year. obviously they are not in Europe so not bound by FFP, but they must have European ambitions, so maybe they're just doing their big spending? I think previously they've always had a big 'saleable' asset (Lukaku, Rodwell, Barkley). But probably Richarlison aside they don't have anyone who teams would be looking at to balance their books.
