I think ‘thank u, next’ would still be considered her imperial phase but this has still been a successful follow up!

The shipping date for my 'positions' deluxe vinyl has changed to 10th December :nocheer: so yeah any potential chart impact won't be this week now!

I know right I love it :wub: far more high effort than the standard pressing with the coloured record and gatefold.

 

It re-entered the top 100 this week thanks to the records shipping.

'positions' (song) is #88 in the EOY chart posted in the U.K. Chart forum - glad it registered somewhere this year after being released too late in the game last year.

 

'34+35' showing up at #65 and 'Rain On Me' #97 ^_^

Ah, U.K. EOY positions slightly adjusted now with week 52 included - '34+35' stays the same at #65 but 'positions' down to #91 (boo) and 'Rain On Me' #98.

Yeah the era was definitely way too short in terms of singles etc. but she achieved immense success (e.g. locking out the Billboard top 3) and it's her most critically acclaimed album!

I feel like I haven't really revisited the bonus tracks too much in recent times but I did really like 'worst behavior'

worst behaviour was also my favourite of the bonus tracks too.

 

I don’t think the bonus tracks added too much to the overall album though the re-release/deluxe version kinda went unnoticed and the other bonus tracks I think were too short to really make a lasting impression on me.

 

I hope on her next era her songs have slightly longer lengths… there’s a few tracks on the main album as well what sort of feel too short and could’ve done with like an extra verse or a final chorus to really climax the tracks full potential.

Tbf the deluxe did allow the album to rebound back into the top 5 and 'test drive' was a top 40 hit but yeah not much lasting impact I suppose.

 

Definitely here for her beefing up the lengths again next era! Something like 'Save Your Tears (Remix)' last year at a little over 3 mins felt fully fledged with all the ad libs and big final chorus <3
