11. Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved 190 points

It is Maroon 5's second and final entry in this heat 'She Will Be Loved' that is the extremely unlucky song here. It is equal in points to the song in tenth place but due to not receiving a set of 20 points it misses out. :( I'm actually annoyed with myself lol because I wanted to give 'She Will Be Loved' my 20 pts but settled for 19 since I thought it stood more chance of qualifying than 'This Love'. Also, if we didn't agree to extend the voting window it would have finished top 10 (as it had been throughout compiling the votes :drama:). It is what it is. To think Maroon 5 were looking very likely to have two songs qualifying in the same year at one point and now they have none.

In alphabetical order, the top 10 songs from 2004 making it through to the final rate are:

Anastacia – Left Outside Alone

Britney Spears – Everytime

Britney Spears - Toxic

Destiny’s Child – Lose My Breath

Eric Prydz – Call On Me

Gwen Stefani – What You Waiting For

Keane – Somewhere Only We Know

Kelis – Trick Me

Kylie Minogue – I Believe In You

Shapeshifters – Lola’s Theme

Please join us tomorrow as Addy will be hosting the results for the 2005 heat. :cheer: In the meantime I would love to know your opinions on the qualifying 10 songs.

Strong top 10, shocked to see Kylie there if I’m honest so it’s a pleasant surprise

noooo She Will Be Loved robed :snif:

Amazing Top 10...another 8 songs that I've voted for (DC and Keane are the two I don't care) :cheer:

Glad that my votes put one of these through ahead of that garbage :D

Britney Spears - Toxic

Eric Prydz – Call On Me

Gwen Stefani – What You Waiting For

Keane – Somewhere Only We Know

Kelis – Trick Me

Shapeshifters – Lola’s Theme

I'm shocked Trick Me was ahead of Milkshake too :o

Adore the first 7 songs in that list of qualifiers and whilst I'm not massive fans of the last 3, I don't dislike any so a v. good set of qualifiers *.*

Trick Me is so much better than Milkshake.

So pleased to see Anastacia through, that’s my holy trinity represented (Pink/Dido/Anastacia)

Gutted Maroon 5 missed out and were so close with both! I’d probably kick Shapeshifters out for She Will Be Loved. It’s sad that’s really it for them because there’s no way Makes Me Wonder will have qualified in 2007.

Hi everyone,

I am trying to figure it out the time for the 2005 results...I have to go somewhere today which it was not planned until last minute, but I am trying to work out something with Scene and just waiting for his confirmation if he is available...otherwise I will post results when I return which frankly it will be probably between 9PM-10PM UK time.

Thanks for understanding.

First let's reveal the four songs that received zero points.

(IS THIS THE WAY TO) AMARILLO - Tony Christie feat. Peter Kay
OVER AND OVER - Nelly feat. Tim McGraw
ROC YA BODY (MIC CHECK 1, 2) - M.V.P.
WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME Westlife with Diana Ross

61-71

61 MOCKINGBIRD - Eminem 21
62 AXEL F - Crazy Frog 20
63 LOCKED UP- Akon 20
64 HATE IT OR LOVE IT - The Game feat. 50 Cent 15
65 LET ME LOVE YOU - Mario J 13
66 DON'T LOVE YOU NO MORE (I'M SORRY) - Craig David 10
67 I SEE GIRLS - Studio B 10
68 SWITCH - Will Smith 7
69 WE BE BURNIN' - Sean Paul 5
70 SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN - U2 3
71 LAY YOUR HANDS - Simon Webbe 2

Kicking off the bottom section is Blue member Simon Webbe who, like his group, fails to make a big impression in these heats. I can't say there are any real losses in this section. None of these songs demonstrate the best of 2005. Thankfully Crazy Frog is out early although inexplicably picks up 20 points! Eminem underperforms with 'Mockingbird' compared to his other rankings so far.

Evening. Yes 'Let Me Love You' is a bit of a smooth jam but it's not aged well imo.
#60-#51:

51 UGLY - Sugababes 42
52 JCB SONG - Nizlopi 38
53 NINE MILLION BICYCLES - Katie Melua 32
54 SOMEWHERE ELSE- Razorlight 32
55 CANDY SHOP - 50 Cent 30
56 LYLA - Oasis 29
57 YOU RAISE ME UP - Westlife 28
58 THAT'S MY GOAL - Shayne Ward 27
59 I'LL BE OK - McFly 24
60 LONELY- Akon 23

In this group there some early exits for some big names such as Akon, 50 Cent, Shayne Ward, Westlife (I mean at this point they really failed in every heat :kink:), Katie Melua and Sugababes, which speaking of they still have 'Push The Button' in the game.

41-50

41. Black Eyed Peas - My Humps 60 points
42. Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers 58 points
43. 2Pac feat. Elton John - Ghetto Gospel 53 points
44. Black Eyed Peas - Don't Phunk With My Heart 50 points
45. Ciara feat. Petey Pablo - Goodies 49 points
46. Mariah Carey - It's Like That 48 points
47. Liberty X - Song 4 Lovers 47 points
48. Brian McFadden & Delta Goodrem - Almost Here 47 points
49. Snoop Dogg feat. Charlie Wilson and Justin Timberlake - Signs 47 points
50. Simon Webbe - No Worries 45 points

In this section we say goodbye to the R&B classic 'Signs' which is surrounded by some forgotten mid-noughties pop (No Worries, Almost Here, Song 4 Lovers). Mariah's triumphant comeback single fails to triumph in this heat but she still has the more successful follow-up to come! Ciara makes a somewhat surprisingly early appearance with 'Goodies' since it performed extremely well in her recent singles rate. Eminem loses yet another of his singles - 2005 doesn't seem to be a great year for him  The Black Eyed Peas lose two of three entries in this heat with 10 points separating the pair.

Considering Sugababes have qualified with three singles so far (FLM, RR, HITH) 'Ugly' has flopped by their standards.

I am shocked at low support for BEP track :snif:

I expected Don't Phunk With My Heart at least top 20 if I am honest!!!

#40-#31:

31 STICKWITU - The Pussycat Dolls 86
32 YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL - James Blunt 83
33 BEST OF YOU - Foo Fighters 76
34 SHOT YOU DOWN - Audio Bullys feat. Nancy Sinatra 72
35 FALLING STARS - Sunset Strippers 66
36 OUT OF TOUCH - Uniting Nations 65
37 ALL ABOUT YOU - McFly 64
38 LOSE CONTROL - Missy Elliott feat. Ciara & Fatman Scoop 62
39 CRAZY CHICK - Charlotte Church 62
40 TRIPPING - Robbie Williams 60

One of the biggest song of 2005 'You're Beautiful' by James Blunt ends up 'only' #32. I did not expect to finish top 10 because I am well aware that BJ is very anti male ballads lol but I did expect to at least got Top 20!!! Other than that in this group, I am sad to see all those three dance songs out so early, especial 'Out Of Touch' and 'Shot You Down' :(. Missy Elliot/Ciara duet is also out leaving only '1,2 Step' for Ciara still in the game. Some songs that I am not very familiar but they've got some support are 'Crazy Chick' by Charlotte Church and 'Best Of You' by Foo Fighters. The Pussycat Dolls their second #1 hit manages 'only' #31. 'Don't Cha' is still in the game and will be revealed soon if that made it to the finals or not?!!!
