31. Kylie Minogue – Wow 85 points

32. Basshunter – Now You’re Gone 84 points

33. Alesha Dixon – The Boy Does Nothing 84 points

34. Utah Saints – Something Good ’08 83 points

35. Sara Bareilles – Love Song 72 points

36. OneRepublic – Stop And Stare 69 points

37. H ‘Two’ O feat. Platnum – What’s It Gonna Be 69 points

38. The Script – The Man Who Can’t Be Moved 69 points

39. Dizzee Rascal feat. Calvin Harris & Chrome – Dance Wiv Me 69 points

40. Leona Lewis – Better In Time 67 points

Here we have another female X Factor winner kicking off this section. Leona's 'Better In Time' fails to repeat the success of 'Bleeding Love' which qualified in yesterday's heat. This isn't the last we will see of her today as 'Run' is still to come. Elsewhere, we lose Alesha's first proper solo hit at a respectable #33 but I would have liked it to finish a bit higher. Basshunter loses his final entry here and Kylie performs better today than she did yesterday with '2 Hearts'. I would have expected slightly better from 'Wow' though.

26. The Saturdays – Up 112 points

27. Eric Prydz – Pjanoo 109 points

28. Katy Perry – I Kissed A Girl 94 points

29. The Ting Tings – That’s Not My Name 90 points

30. Coldplay – Violet Hill 89 points

Here we lose the first of two Coldplay singles in this heat. The Ting Tings lose their final single while Katy Perry loses her #1 debut - this result and its early departure in the EOY Survivor really clarifies its lack of popularity on Buzzjack. The Saturdays lose their sole entry of 2008 at a decent #26 but I expected it to finish a lot higher judging by their popularity on BJ.

23. Gabriella Cilmi – Sweet About Me 113 points

24. Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown – No Air 112 points

25. Adele – Chasing Pavements 112 points

The biggest artist of the last decade arrives at #25 with her breakthrough single. 'Chasing Pavements' finishes where I would have expected it to. It's a great little song and put Adele on the map but this was her warming up before striking gold with her second album. This section contains a few more UK breakthrough hits from Jordin, Gabriella and Kings Of Leon. Duffy's first of two appearances today is at #22. 'Mercy' is still to come!

At #20 is 'The Promise'. :o I honestly thought this would become one of their qualifiers. It's generally held in as high regard as 'Sound...', 'Biology' and 'Call The Shots', no? I'm even more shocked 'American Boy' finishes higher than Girls Aloud considering how badly it did in the EOY Survivor. It has redeemed itself by finishing as high at #20!

At #18 is another of Kelly Rowland's singles that fails to make the cut. She still stands a chance of having one non-Destiny's Child qualifier to her name tomorrow. :kink: September makes a surprisingly high appearance at #17. :o

Never cared for that GA song so I am glad it didn't take a finalist spot!!!

I love 'American Boy' but I am also aware of polarizing love/hate opinion in BJ!!!

Here we say goodbye to Duffy's second and final entry in this heat - and I assume the whole decade now. Sadly 'Rain On Your Parade' missed the EOY top 75 - it's by far my favourite song from her. At #15 we have Queen Bey - I'm surprised 'If I Were A Boy' failed to make the cut while 'Irreplaceable' was able to. We should be seeing more of her tomorrow. :kink:

So I'm shocked this has managed to finish as high as #14. :o It definitely would have added some more variety to the qualifiers list so far if it bagged over a couple of dozen more points.

So this finishes 8 positions and 25 points higher than 'Sex On Fire'. I actually prefer 'Sex On Fire' out of the two but they are both cracking songs and a refreshing sound in the charts during a "souled out" 2008.

At #13 is The Killers with their second top 20 finisher of the decade (out of two eligible songs!) yet it is their second song to miss out on the top 10. I'm not a big fan of this one by them. I much prefer their 2004-06 singles.

11. Rihanna – Don’t Stop The Music 166 points

At the unlucky #11 position is Rihanna's MJ-sampling 'Don't Stop The Music' which was a massive hit back in 2008. It is definitely one of her most loved earlier releases so I expected it to do well - it is a real shame it failed to qualify though and it was so close! Nevertheless, that doesn't mean we have a Rihanna-free top 10. :kink:

In alphabetical order, the top 10 songs from 2008 making it through to the final rate are:

Alphabeat – Fascination

Britney Spears – Piece Of Me

Britney Spears – Womanizer

Coldplay – Viva La Vida

Guru Josh Project – Infinity 2008

Katy Perry – Hot N Cold

Leona Lewis – Run

Pink – So What

Rihanna – Disturbia

Sam Sparro – Black And Gold

Please join us tomorrow as Addy or me :kink: will be hosting the results for the final heat - 2009! :cheer: In the meantime I would love to know your opinions on the qualifying 10 songs. :gaycat:

Good to see Pink get through again-that’s 4 qualifiers which is pretty good.

Shame Duffy and the Killers missed out. I actually thought Warwick Avenue would be higher than Mercy.

OMG at Propane Nightmares getting that high, I'd be sad they didn't qualify but I expected them out in like 36th *.*.*

Yayy for Viva la Vida and Fascination. Boooo at The Killers not making it.
