That’s a much better drop than I expected. I thought it would drop to around #60 but at least now it still has the top 50 boost. It will probably remain top 50 now as Taylor songs are dropping faster than I would have thought to!

It could rise tomorrow if the Taylor tracks keep dropping like they are, it will get moved up on HHUK too soon so that will help once it’s high enough and they have an MNEK remix coming and the music video so that could help too. I just hope this does well for them!

Bleh, it's getting really difficult to predict where this will land, possibly looking at a top 15/20 debut for this since it's doing worse than BUS, although the Taylor album doesn't really help (Lol when we thought this wouldn't impact it..)

 

I'ts a bit annoying seeing RCA just tweet dumb stuff rather than... you know getting them a spot on TTH.

Music videos don’t really have that much of an impact, watermelon sugar is one of the few videos I’ve seen have an impact recently.

 

They honestly got treated better from Syco when it comes to playlisting.

Yeah Twitter was crazy yesterday with fans complaining about how Syco was better with playlisting and the general campaign.

 

I must say its performance on Itunes is 80% down to the fanbase. People were buying the song like crazy on Twitter. The brazilian fan account I follow distributed the song to everyone who asked. It’s cute to see the fans putting in that much effort, but at the same time sad that it’s all they can do as it’s not even that relevant anymore.

 

I hope they have some sort of promo planned other than just giving interviews on Zoom and doing lives. No performances this time around would make no sense at all. I expected them to have one airing the week of release already.

#9 on todays update. Cant see it managing top 15 debut now? Maybe if it starts to rise but hopefully it does better next week and doesnt just fall.

Not a great start in comparison to Break Up Song and Bounce Back.

 

Let’s hope it climbs on Spotify over the week and in the charts in the next few weeks. Can’t see this failing to become a Top 10 hit in the long run as a good sign.

 

They need better placement on Spotify now though. The treatment this song’s receiving is annoying. I hope they have some performances planned and that the video comes next Friday.

 

I still have faith in the song, it sounds so much catchier than Break Up Song to me and it’s such a grower.

It will be fine for a top 15 debut! Like I stated on Friday I can’t see it debuting anywhere other than 13-14! Love Me Like You is their only other single to miss the top 10 before album release, isn’t it?

I’m a bit worried about Apple Music, Lighter is #18 already and they’re stuck in the 30s.

I think it’ll be around the 15 mark at the end of the week.

 

Also somehow this is still top 10 on US iTunes. BUS was around 70 by this point

This is not doing as well in streaming as I expected. Though its early days, hope it rises and doesn't linger in the 40s/30s on Spotify like BUS did

It's Spotify playlisting is appalling, especially in comparison to BUS first few days.

 

I still think this will be a big smash for them, but I am disappointed with the Spotify support atm. Hopefully it's more of the longer game with Spotify promotion and that they're waiting to move it up along with airplay etc..

I have faith in it too, let’s see.

 

But yeah the lack of support on Spotify is disencouraging.

You can really see how LM’s popularity has diminished the views on YouTube are shocking.

 

BUS official video only has 7M views, I know under unusual circumstances but even so seems pretty low.

 

I’m wondering how the lack of X Factor performances worldwide has impacted them.

 

Syco used to plug them on all sorts of shows due to Simon but it’s all very limited now.

 

Struggling to stay optimistic about Holiday now, BUS struggled enough on Spotify as it was so I hope Holiday doesn’t end up being another Bounceback if not worse.

I’m so impressed on how well this has maintained on US iTunes! I’m not sure if anyone on here is particularly we versed in the Billboard charts, but do we think this could debut on the hot 100?
