I wonder if they had no better offers when they headed to RCA.

Did they even have a choice? Wasn't it because both Syco and RCA are under Sony so it was just transferring most artists from Syco out to RCA? I didn't really follow the drama at the time, I was one of the naive stans who thought "yay, new label!" but I knew RCA was notorious, especially the UK branch, for sort of stalling careers.

 

I dunno why they're so bad though, it's not like "what do we do with Little Mix?" is such a hard question to answer considering what they're known for.

 

I wasn't really expecting any big streaming numbers from them post-WLM, they've never been a "streaming" act, even though they're the most streamed girl group and have actually quite a few streaming accolades. It was sad they debuted right in the middle of the crossover.

You can’t really blame RCA you’d be surprised about all the hidden things that go on behind the scenes.

 

Syco are everywhere, they have inside deals with Capital FM, I’m sure they come to arrangements with Spotify too.

 

Not to mention it’s easy for Cowell to keep artists relevant by putting them on all the talent shows.

 

I genuinely think LM have declined in Europe / WW because they can’t perform on X Factor’s etc..

The market has changed though, look at all the pure pop artists loads of them fail to really get a hit now, unless there’s crossovers such as Mabel who does have a slightly urban ‘look’ if that makes any sense.

Top 15 is looking very unlikely for tomorrow now, i think 17 is where it will enter.

RCA should be getting their pre-album singles instantly added int the top 12 on HHUK like syco used to. They couldn't even get the TAU remix instantly added. If you think about Woman Like Me entering at #11 on HHUK with the vertical a few places down to BUS getting added at...45, it's a bit of a mess.

Now #2 on A-List Pop on Apple Music just behind the new Sam Smith song. That playlist usually creates a good effect when its promoted on the homepage so im expecting it to rise a few spots on AM in the next few days.

Regarding playlists, I think we also ought to mention Hot Hits UK is now a mess, rarely adding songs high up on release. Even Billie's latest is pretty low. Taylor Swift is the cover but not even in the Top 10 of the playlist.

 

They're annoying honestly.

SOTME and Touch were never added to the TTH.

Only “Reggaetón Lento” (mostly because Simon used LM to give more exposure to his boy group), “Only You” & “Woman Like Me” had been there, thanks to both Cheat Codes & Nicki’s labels.

I don't want to be negative but it's really struggling and being at 29 on HH on Spotify is terrible.

 

I just hope Summer Hits gives it a boost over the hot weekend :(

It’s just started moving up on HH. It’s now moving up very quickly so it shouldn’t be long at all before it will actually have a decent impact on the song. I honestly still don’t think this has peaked yet.

Good news for Apple Music, hopefully we start to see it making noticeable climbs on there :D Especially as today is supposed to be one of the hottest days of the year!

 

B List rotation starts on Radio 1 today. So hopefully some steady stabilising on iTunes too!
