August 18, 20204 yr Don't think 'Levitating' took off at all... it's lower than 'Hallucinate' in the charts and thats not been blessed with a remix. Levitating won't be pushed as single until September, and it will be the original.
August 18, 20204 yr So she’s not credited by the OCC... I knew this would happen. The vendetta the UK music industry has against her is ridiculous. Levitating didn’t just randomly take off on its own. Madonna, Missy Elliott and The Blessed Madonna deserve to be credited I think this is a tad dramatic. It's hardly a vendetta of the whole indsutry against her, it's the same as it was with Beyonce on that Megan Thee Stallion remix. Also, it's a bit of an overstatement to say it took off. It enjoyed an initial boost due to fans purchasing the remix on the first few days but it's now pretty much vanished completely on Spotify.
August 20, 20204 yr So I've finally listened to this. I don't hate it as much as a lot of people seem to on here but it is SUCH a missed opportunity. I love the presence of both Madge and Missy and think they both put in really good performances that blend really well with Dua - but the production is just too similar throughout, there's enough going on that it could have been structured in a way that felt a lot less samey throughout. I quite like it up to Missy but then it just feels as though the track falls away when it should reach a crescendo.

August 23, 20204 yr This track is great, the future bass is great, I like the fact Madonna’s vocals aren’t butchered, I do hope that Madonna works with Dua Lipa, The Blessed Madonna and Stuart Price (again) within her next Album. Hope we get some new club bangers!! I think if Madonna was featured in the video it would have been some great promo. This is a good direction for Madonna and awesome that she’s interested in putting into different types of tracks.
August 25, 20204 yr #10 on the Bubbling Under chart in the US. Madonna seems to be credited there!? Apparently they changed the ratio so that pure sales have less weight (to prevent BTS getting #1 allegedly). Cause Levitating and The Lakes were definitely supposed to chart pretty comfortably according to all predictions. So annoying if true. Pure sales should always hold the most weight in the chart

September 9, 20204 yr Author How are people’s opinions on this nearly a month on? I’m still obsessed with it, I love the original production too and the fan made version of that with the features is fire, but I still think this version holds up on its own. Quite sad it was so poorly received.
September 10, 20204 yr This is okay, I've listened to it a fair bit now. Still very disappointing overall and I'm not surprised it was poorly received.
September 10, 20204 yr I think this is such a massive improvement on the original. The production is so good and I think Madonna and Dua sound fab together. I can take or leave (preferably leave) Missy but she’s on it so little it’s fine. The original just sounds so “empty” now.
