July 10, 20206 yr Author I'm genuinely baffled as to why they're supporting Ellie now when they ignored 'Power' It's not like it's doing any better? Great to see the relatively quick add for Joel x MNEK and Becky Hill :) 'Rockstar' needs to do one next week, and so does 'Stuck With U'. Edited July 10, 20206 yr by M4NGO
July 10, 20206 yr Author According to Ellie herself Power was "just for the fans" :P Really? When did she say that? I've spent all this time presuming it was an official single!
July 10, 20206 yr Really? When did she say that? I've spent all this time presuming it was an official single! Got the wording a bit wrong, but it's the same meaning (this may have just been damage control though ) @1276827226747670529
July 10, 20206 yr Author Sounds like damage control, but then again the fact tat R1 ignored it and have playlisted the new one suggests there might be some truth to it
July 10, 20206 yr I think I would have put Joel Corry straight to A List tbh. He seems popular and Head and Heart is looking to be massive. Good to see Becky Hill added and surprised to see Derulo moved up to B. Will be interesting to see if they A List it or just keep it B-listed.

Derulo will probably just stay on the B-list for the next however many weeks he's number one!
July 10, 20206 yr the Ellie comment on Power seems like what is typically said after a song flops but sure if was a single if it was playlisted by R2? anyway good ads this weeks and nice climbs for Arlo Parks and Phoebe Bridgers
July 10, 20206 yr Lots of great activity this week! Very please to see Arlo Parks up to A List New adds for Becky, Disclosure, Joel Corry, Ellie and Ty Dolla $ign are great We all know Ellie is only here because of Lauv :kink:
July 10, 20206 yr According to Ellie herself Power was "just for the fans" :P "Just for the fans" is the new "buzz single".
July 10, 20206 yr Author Yeah, watch 'Slow Grenade' become "just for the fans" too... in fact the album itself will probably be "just for the fans"

July 10, 20206 yr Surprised 'Savage Love' has went higher in the playlist thought it was gonna be this years DM. Love the new Disclosure/Slowthai song and wonder if Ellie was added because it features 'Lauv'!?
July 10, 20206 yr Author Surprised 'Savage Love' has went higher in the playlist thought it was gonna be this years DM. Dance Monkey spent 6 weeks on the B-list
July 10, 20206 yr Dance Monkey spent 6 weeks on the B-list Ah sorry I thought they restricted it more. It'll be interesting to see if it goes any higher at any rate.
July 10, 20206 yr People's assumptions of Ellie being blacklisted/snubbed proven wrong :coffee: (not in the way I expected but still - honestly I can 100% believe 'Power' was just a label concession allowing her to release a song she wanted to and wasn't even pushed to Radio 1, bear in mind practically all the other singles she's put out have been big American collaborations that have not really suited her usual sound and have all been crammed onto a 'disc 2' on the album, which kind of screams 'the label forced me to release these'). With that said, 'Slow Grenade' imo is a better song than 'Power', still not amazing but definitely one of the best singles from this era (only behind 'Hate Me' imo). A good set of additions this week, not sure I'd have predicted any Pop Smoke song being added (not least because it wasn't clear there was a proper single at all from this album (other than 'Make It Rain')) but happy to see it. 'My High' and 'Ego Death' are the only adds that I really love but the others are all enjoyable songs too. Also going to confidently predict that Jawsh 685 will be A-Listed xx
