October 16, 20222 yr Amazing photo Dan!! I was mostly successful in avoiding setlist spoilers apart from a couple of accidental glances at the Delta FB group! This made for some really lovely surprises - Together We Are One in particular, that's a huge favourite of mine and I totally wasn't expecting it for some reason. It was such a strong setlist and it ticked every box - loads of Delta classics to satisfy us long-term fans who haven't heard them live before, and a great selection from the new album too. LOVED the Bunker Down section!! Looking at Wednesday's setlist, I think that had a better selection, but no complaints at mine either - a snippet of Brave Face was way out of my expectations but it's my favourite non-single, and it was great to hear a bit of Dancing With a Broken Heart too. What an inspired idea, and Delta seemed to be loving every single moment, not just of Bunker Down but of the entire show. It's a cliché to say it but there really was SO much love in the room, even the deepest cuts had everyone singing along. The meet and greet situation after felt a bit confusing initially. I was seated upstairs and SPRINTED down after to get as far forward in the queue as possible, which was a decent success to be fair as I was less than halfway along, but after about 20 minutes of waiting, the queue was led outside with no explanation until we reached the exit, where we were told the M&G would happen outside. From there it was about an hour wait for me until I met Delta! One lady was there who asked me my name just before I met Delta, for the purpose of introducing me by my name (never seen this before but how wonderfully thoughtful!) and another lady was taking the photos, with a light to ensure everyone had the best possible lighting for their pictures. Delta gave me a gigantic hug when I met her, she asked me where I'd come from and said she loved my hair - mentioning how all of her band also rock the long hair! She signed my Mistaken Identity album and asked me to spell my name to ensure she got it right (leading to me momentarily forgetting how to spell my own name x). She really made sure to have a chat with me as well as the photo, simply incredible and one of the best experiences of my whole life. I keep pinching myself, I can't believe it happened!!
October 16, 20222 yr Lovely recollection Joseph, so glad it was everything you’d hoped for. She really is a wonderful person, they say never meet your idols but everybody should meet Delta, so joy replenishing  It’s so nice she greets fans with a big smile and a hug and asks them a couple of questions so it’s not just a quick hi, smile and in and out that feels like a contractual obligation. She clearly does this as she loves it. Great pic too Dan, I always forget how tall she is! Edited October 16, 20222 yr by gooddelta
October 16, 20222 yr Clearly they learned from getting kicked out of the venue on night one and just took it outside from the start this time 😂 I really loved that in spite of the venue her team were really really considerate of the fans and in ensuring they had an incredible M&G experience. Which considering it was free is amazing. They really went above and beyond. And Delta literally ignored the venue staff hurrying it along at all times 😂 If anything the whole experience made me more of a fan than I was. And yeah Joseph, you could just see in her face how genuinely the love was and how touched she was by the reaction of the crowd for the entire gig
October 16, 20222 yr If anything the whole experience made me more of a fan than I was. Reading these comments alone has encouraged me to finally start making my way through her back catalogue (after being only a very casual, albeit probably more up to date than most of the UK have kept up with, fan: adoring lots of her singles!). It sounds like she gave an absolutely special performance, and I'm glad to hear how she's made everyone feel. If she comes back to the UK, I'd love the chance to see her... It sounds like it would be really special!
October 18, 20222 yr I can't remember if i wrote this or not... so apologies for repeating myself but before i met her, security said to her there was still over 100 people and the venue was going to need to close (even though it was outside the venue) and she said... i'll just meet everyone around the corner then. She very much wanted to meet everyone. One thing that amazes me about Delta is there are a group of really loyal fans, who travelled to Oz for the tours in the past and yet she treats all her fans at the same level, no matter how often she sees them and i really respect that. A lot of artists favourtise fans and she doesn't seem to.
October 19, 20222 yr Berlin tonight 🥰 probably lost 20 spaces in the queue looking for parking 😂 but I’ll go direct to the stage while everyone head for the bar
October 19, 20222 yr Electric Storm in bunkerdown 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 The Germans can’t queue for shit tho so I’m just staying well back coz I’m far too British for this shit
October 19, 20222 yr The hot goss direct from Matt himself. New material has been written, will be recorded in Q4 and they’ll be back early next year touring again with the new music
October 19, 20222 yr I’m so happy everyone that went to the London and Berlin shows had such a great time. It’s been a long time coming for you all. You deserved the best experience.
October 19, 20222 yr I will gush more when ive actually processed it all but I met Delta again tonight and got to have a proper chat with her and she signed a bunch of stuff for me (Delta and Wings over the wild CDs, BOTD notepad, and tonight’s setlist - which will be framed along with the tickets 🤩 and a print of my photos with her). She was again so bloody lovely and she spent a heap of time with everyone in the venue making everyone feel seen and heard and loved. She remembered me from London 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 and quite sincerely thanked me for singing along tonight and for coming to both shows. She’s just lovely. She also loved that my Delta album still has the Aussie price tag on it from when I bought it in Brisbane 🤣 I’m still processing last week tbh Her band are also total Sweethearts. Was chatting with them when waiting for the meet and greet and she has such a nice crew around her.
October 20, 20222 yr A third of the size! Just 200 capacity, smaller stage and a lot lower roof! Delta was holding onto the light rigging while standing on top of the piano at one point 😂 Was bloody hot inside.
October 20, 20222 yr wow! 200 people! thats tiny... i'm presuming her team were equating sales of the recent album by country when deciding to book venues?
October 20, 20222 yr They were saying that they were really really REALLY unsure on if there was still any market at all in Europe because of how long it has been since we were served anything at all and so Lafayette was just a tester and they were really overwhelmed with the response that everything else was just really quickly thrown together because it caught them a little by surprise almost. They weren’t quite expecting such a strong reaction and so they’re then in a position, having taken a „ah f*** it why not“ gamble on London in the first place to really just take what they could get at short notice while also not wanting to hedge their bets that they’d get an equally as strong reaction on the continent. But the 200 seats sold out in presale because live nation f***ed up and forgot to put a limit on the number of presale tix! Did say they reckoned it was the smallest ticketed gig she’s ever done and will probably now ever do. We’re not getting arenas, at least not yet, but she’s playing much bigger venues next time. But they have all really loved these special small intimate shows because they just don’t do these kind of shows in Australia. We got to be part of something special
October 20, 20222 yr yeah i'm pals with a lot of the Australian audiences and their very jealous of the venues we've been getting.. I think she could probably do Shepherds Bush Empire? I mean artists like KT Tunstall and Kate Nash play their all the time. They just don't open the level 3 if it doesnt sell. Edited October 20, 20222 yr by dannjohn
October 20, 20222 yr Reckon she could comfortably sell that out. She did 1200 tickets in London in total and they sold out instantly and plenty of people were disappointed they couldn’t get tickets Give it a couple of years and a little exposure and she could sell out the Apollo I reckon
October 20, 20222 yr Or somewhere like Koko in Camden, that's about 1,200. In Aus, a 200 or even 600 capacity intimate concert would probably see a complete bunfight for probably very pricey tickets! I love seeing artists bringing their superstar A-game in huge arenas, but it's so special to get the opportunity to see them up close and personal too.
October 20, 20222 yr The only prob is i know quite a lot of the same people went to both London shows so it makes it seem difficult to gage how many. I think either way Shepherds Bush is viable. She deffo has a casual audience there i think.

She deffo has a casual audience there i think. I think for every one of those there was a good 5 people complaining about the lack of notice that meant they couldn’t come to London in the first place. Think she should clear a 2k venue without much sweat. How viable a UK wide tour is im not sure but I think if we actually get a proper promo and release strategy for Europe for DG7 then she could defo support a wee tour of like 5-7 venues in the 1-1.5k range imo
