Always Be My Baby is my favourite thing she’s ever done :wub:

I was looking at her discography page and she has so many good options for this round! 'Make It Happen' and 'You Don't Know What To Do' (again *.*) in particular for me, and 'My All' might be one of her most popular ballads, and 'Anytime You Need A Friend' is the best of the 'Music Box' singles imo! Plus there's the song you did not name yourself after :kink:

 

And yet none of those are even worth mentioning because they're dwarfed by 'Always Be My Baby' - impressive. It's not necessarily my favourite, but it's a strong choice!

My All is a reasonably good choice also if you're going for the single remix - I remember liking that

I love My All and Anytime You Need a Friend in particular :wub:

 

I'd say Always Be My Baby is the strongest song mentioned so far and has the highest chance of doing well (watch it end up in 11th place :kink: ). I think I'd be happy to send it now, though it could in theory still be saved for a later round (at the expense of songs like Dreamlover/Honey/Emotions/It's Like That having a chance at being sent).

Always Be My Baby is not only my fave Mariah song, it's one of my fave songs of all time :wub:

Clearly Mariah is the Queen of songs like this, so there's plenty to choose from. Looking In would be my top pick! Have a listen if you don't know it:

 

 

It's a very poignant and sad song, and I think it's stunning. :heart: Not a typical ballad.

Not sure if this would be considered mid/down tempo but I personally love mine again from emancipation but not sure if it would qualify

I don't regret sending it per se. The Distance is a major fan favourite, is generally considered as being the highlight track from 'Caution', and regarded as a missed single opportunity! I think it's a very good example to showcase modern Mariah. I'm not really sure what would have been more appealing in that round.

 

Anyway, moving on...!

 

 

Round 10 is Free Choice, so please recommend which single you think is strong enough to do the business for Mariah! There's loads to choose from.

It does seem to be that upbeat Mariah seems to be outperforming her slower songs based on that track record so maybe uptempo might be a path to go down. I don't envy your decision though Jay as these are all pretty fabulous tracks and deserve an opportunity to be showcased :cry:
