That would be meaningful if #710 meant something more than a couple of copies

Besides, it's updated, and...

#831 - standard

#1,293 - deluxe

Just to show how tough it is to flog deluxe and multiple formats outside of the initial fanbase purchases. Little Mix album is #2 in the midweeks, the deluxe is #193 on Amazon.
It's Melanie and her team's fault for producing too many deluxe album copies. She didn't need a deluxe version in the first place.

Who said "she produced too many copies of the deluxe edition"? That's exactly how #FakeNews are born. :teresa:

She chose Into You because it had the most single potential and it was a clear fan favorite.

ofcourse she did, she def needed multiple formats

Why not? The Delux version was a great edition. Yes Delux versions are for fans mainly and probably they did print far too many, but it is always a great way of ensure bigger sales and to also get more music out, so I dont know why you stated that

I never said she didn't need multiple formats. She didn't need a deluxe edition when the original album only had 10 tracks.

But it created another format / edition ?

Get more music out? It's not like the standard edition of the album filled up a whole 80 min CD. The deluxe edition was a total cash grab.

Standard editions rarely fill up a whole CD.

Standard editions rarely fill up a whole CD.

Stating the obvious.

Of course the deluxe was just to get extra sales out of fans and it really didn't warrant a 2nd cd but that's the way things work. It isn't just Melanie who does it.
I'd assume the new trend of having shorter standard album tracklistings has to do with trying to help the albums in streaming.

I think it depends which market you are aiming for. The US charts are compiled differently and artists aiming there have released albums with massive track list like 20+ songs as the more streams the better even if spread out over loads of tracks.

(Lol at vinyl / cassette positions)

Deluxe back ahead on Amazon. Though I think I'd be tempted to put the deluxe on download sites now if the Into You EP is ahead of Melanie C.
