It's a shame she didn't get that BGT slot Amanda Holden just had.

Trust someone like Amanda Holden to release her debut album the week Melanie's albums coming out.

Amanda's album is just covers and she's got the advantage of being on Heart Radio and being on BGT every weekend.

If it hadn't been Amanda it would likely have been someone else and not Melanie sadly. She was supposed to have an Xtra Factor performance and was actually replaced on that at the last minute... nevermind prime time BGT.

Why is Amanda Holden even releasing music?! :coffee:
I wish she released last week as she would have def got top 10, either way it will be mels highest charting album for years.

It's going to be soooooo frustrating if she just misses out. An Emma situation all over again where if she released the week before she would have been a safe top 10

It'll very likely be her highest charting album since Reason, which is nothing to sniff at (Beautiful Intentions charted at #24; Version of Me #25). This should end up somewhere in the top 15, top 20 at worst with maybe around 6k sales. It's frustrating since that would've given her an easy top 10 last week (#10 sold 4.5k; #5 6.5k).

By the way, both this Amanda and the great Roísín have less Spotify listeners. Especially the first one. Let’s hope Mel’s team put out some other ideas to push the sales.

Roísín release actually has more streams than Melanie's, and that is what counts in the end <_< Amanda's is quite behind on streams though, but she will have the upperhand on sales :puke2:

Roisin might be unexpected competition her album is ahead of Melanie's on Amazon and iTunes.
Roisin is ICONIC, a gay icon, and she did a performance on Graham last night, so that would bring much more attention. Also, her album is excellent!
I don't really think Roisin is much of a threat - if she performed on Graham last night, that's why she's currently ahead. She hasn't really had much mainstream radio exposure though, so that peak will be short-lived. I hope she makes the top 40 at least though.
Her album is incredible though and she has a big gay following but yes I doubt it will make much of a dent. If it goes Top20, taht would be excellent news for Roisin!

On optimism, apparently Mel has now been BUMPED UP THE CHARTS to a healthy #4 and it is only 1 sale/unit away from #3 :o

Don't hold me to it, but I think this might be the first time a solo spice has gone UP the charts in the mid weeks since the 90s ah!

I'd imagine that it would have to do with when orders where shipped if that's the case?

Tomorrow we'll get the first official midweeks.

I might have to buy a cd, I was gutted Emma missed the top 10 with 6.6k sold, seeing a solo Spice top 10 would be so nostalgic.
Apparently she is at 4 with 4800 sales

Apparently 4,838 copies sold so far. This means she has already outsold first week sales of Version Of Me (4,084 copies), Stages (2,326 copies), The Sea (3,735 copies) and This Time (4,500 copies)!

She won't hit Beautiful Intentions sales (8,970 copies), but she will certainly outpeak it

Mel is just one copy away from number 3 which is Bon Jovi. I imagine he will be a stronger seller throughout the week though, can certainly see him opening over 10k.

These are the ones above Mel at the minute

#1 Queen

#2 Oasis :o (rabid fanbase!!)

#3 Bon Jovi

'#4 Melanie C
