I seriously can't believe that people haven't learned nothing from everything what has been said so far!!!

It's OK folks to admit that you're uneducated (and I don't mean this in belittling way, I swear) and when you're to teach a lesson you should just be grateful and say thank you.

Also I want to give a big applause  to everyone on this thread who have been contributed with some very good information regarding anti-sexism etc. etc.

I perhaps think it would be a good idea to actually have a discussion of this nature somewhere in the Lounge or whenever the mod's sees fit.

Clearly there is demand and also could be educational. Just saying.

I don’t think anyone is saying women and men shouldn’t be able to freely express their sexuality.

But to think this is just about artist personal choice is beyond naive.

As Sammy said artists and their images are largely controlled by label executives. Sex sells. Pornography is Culturally pervasive.

Big money and the sexual objectification of women for profit was a major target of the women’s movement.

I do believe that this is Megan's choice at the very least though, considering she's been making sexually explicit music since before she was even signed. And Cardi B, having openly spoken with pride about being a stripper in the past, is clearly very capable of making her own decisions on sexual liberation.

So, the statements that bosses push sex because "sex sells" is most definitely true, but this song seems an odd one to trigger that type of a discussion, because both artists have a back catalogue, way before their major record label signings, bursting with these types of songs that they've never dressed up as "empowering", it's just simply their style which they very much own.

Yeah this is the thing. I think a lot of us know that there's certain posters who make odd remarks and can't ever admit they're wrong despite logical arguments thrown their way - but it's still important to have these conversations as there will be people reading who are on the fence on certain issues and might not know that their views might be slightly narrow minded due to the way society is.

We have a case study of a pretty similarly sexually explicit song by 2 male artists blowing up at the exact same time that I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned at all during this debate? Lol ~

(That being 'Mood Swings' - idk if it's just that no one on BuzzJack cares about Pop Smoke's music much / noticed how explicit the lyrics to that song are from hearing a heavily censored version on the chart show a couple of times )

((I personally feel like that song being released in the context of the artist very recently passing away felt a little tonally inappropriate but obviously that's a slightly different argument that isn't relevant to 'WAP'))

I don’t really want to hear about Cardi B’s vagina....

....so I don’t listen to any songs about it. It’s as simple as that. I don’t believe this song is being shoved down anyone’s throats, is it?

Yes, sex sells but so what? Surely it’s only an issue if a woman (or man) is being forced against their will to use their body in this way. I can’t see that being an issue for either of the artists involved with this song.

This was the Suns argument for page 3 against women’s movement critics.

The topless models choose to do it, they are proud of their bodies, The Sun just provides a platform for them to express themselves.

The reality was The Sun were filling their boots by objectifying women which had consequences for women in society as a whole...

Were any of those women Cardi B or Megan Thee Stallion?

Do you think both of these women have written and recorded this song against their will?

Only if you’ve got a wet ass p*ssy x

I don't understand this discussion at all, sorry

There have been explicit lyrics in hit songs like decades already. Lil' Kim had a hit with Not Tonight in 1997 and the lyrics go like "I don't want dick tonight / Eat my pussy right"

^This is porn ;) :D
Cardi up to @3 on apple
Cardi still rising. Hopefully #1, because Head & Heart is boring as hell.
I can't see Cardi getting #1 but I'd be here for it! I reckon it'll be a big Top 5 hit instead.
Cardi up from 10 to 5 on Spotify, HH effect
