Posted August 2, 20204 yr Most known for being Philomena Cunk, Diane Morgan has a new sitcom coming to BBC Two that she wrote, directed and stars in! The pilot aired last year was as amazing as all her other stuff as Mandy was on a mission to get an expensive sofa that she adored. The pilot is on iPlayer now: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p07gy...dy-shorts-mandy The series consists of six 15-minute episodes and will co-star Shaun Ryder, Maxine Peake, David Bradley, Natalie Cassidy and Sean Lock amongst others. From the BBC: “Most of all she dreams of breeding Doberman Pinchers. But there are hurdles to overcome before that dream can become a reality. In the series we’ll see her go on a health kick, rent out her small back bedroom on Airbnb and attempt a series of short-lived jobs in the modern gig economy." https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2020/au...im-orson-welles Absolutely love her, so very excited for this!
August 4, 20204 yr I missed the pilot when it was first on but have seen it now. Look forward to seeing the full series.
August 27, 20204 yr Author I've got one more episode to go (the Natalie Cassidy one) as I'm trying to space them out but omg this is even more outlandish and bonkers than I could have ever imagined. How much death has she inadvertently caused now?? Some absolute laugh out loud moments too. It's definitely stupid in parts but it makes it all the more funny
August 27, 20204 yr Absolutely wonderful, I agree with Klaus it’s silly but you can’t not laugh at Diane Morgan  The first episode when she stands on the toilet, her hair caught in the fan and the place burning to the ground, now when I say I screamed
August 27, 20204 yr loved this... missed the pilot, but watched all 6 episodes in one go last saturday. hilarious
August 28, 20204 yr Watched this all last night and loved it. Absolutely absurd and cartoon-like at times (though the last two episodes were surprisingly dark!), but it clearly knows it and Diane Morgan is just so amazing at playing this gormless character, and it's short length meant it never outstayed its welcome. Shaun Ryder randomly being there with the Russian spy and armed police in that shootout with the wedding was when I lost it  Also love seeing Michael Spicer in this, he's really funny and I love his Room Next Door series on YouTube.
September 1, 20204 yr Author omg just watched the final episode and that was my favourite yet. burst out laughing at the absurdity of it all yet Mandy’s relaxed and chilled approach, especially speaking to the gym!
