"White Flag" is a song by Dido, released as the lead single from her second studio album Life for Rent on 1 September 2003. The song is considered one of her signature songs and helped Life for Rent sell over ten million copies worldwide. It fared very well on record charts around the world, peaking at number one in Australia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Norway, and Portugal. In UK, it reached number two on the UK Singles Chart, and in the United States, it climbed to number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It's her best song and so happy to see it managed to finished Top 30 (probably it would have been even little higher if not for that mean zero from Jason :kink:

27 t.A.T.u. - All The Things She Said 8.02

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #1 (2003)

Highest score: 11 (Rob S, Scene, *dandy, King Rollo)

Lowest score: -1 (nightcrawler, UltraFolklore)

"All the Things She Said" is a song recorded by Russian music duo t.A.T.u. for their second and first English-language studio album 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane. Although its original story was based on a dream Elena had at a dentist appointment, manager Ivan Shapovalov evoked the theme of lesbianism in both this and the English-language version. Lyrically, it focuses on two girls developing feelings for each other.

The big drama was really about the music video, it caused considerable controversy in several nations because it depicted themes of underage lesbianism. Several organisations protested against the video and seeked to ban it, while some music stations removed the scenes featuring the girls kissing.

I guess all that controversy did help the song reach #1 in lots of countries including UK.

White Flag so overrated in this place. Never liked any Dido song, sorry not sorry.
Imagine lacking so much taste you could 0 White Flag.

26 Stereophonics - Dakota 8.05

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #7 (2005)

Highest score: 11 (RabittFurCoat, gavindeejay)

Lowest score: 4 (HausofGhilbi)

"Dakota" is a song by Welsh alternative rock band Stereophonics. It was the first single taken from their fifth studio album, Language. Sex. Violence. Other?, and was released on 28 February 2005. "Dakota" was the first and to date only Stereophonics single to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart.

I am pretty surprised how far this has actually made it and amazing for a #7 song (it's actually the highest and the last #7) that finished in their heat, but clearly it's a BJ favorite.

25 Katy Perry - Hot N Cold 8.06

UK peak: #4

Heat Position: #1 (2008)

Highest score: 10 (Shoat, RabbitFurCoat, Nina West, troublepink, *dandy, chrissmith276, UltraFolklore)

Lowest score: 4 (Dannyboy)

"Hot n Cold" is a song by Katy Perry. The song was written by Perry, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin and produced by Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco for her second studio album, One of the Boys. The track was released as the album's second single on September 9, 2008. The lyrics address an unstable romantic relationship caused by a partner's mood swings.

The song reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Perry's second consecutive top three single, following "I Kissed a Girl". It also became Perry's second top five single in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, and topped the charts in Finland, Germany, Canada, Norway, Spain, and Denmark, among others. To date, "Hot n Cold" has sold over 5.8 million copies in the US, making it one of Perry's highest-selling singles in the nation.

And as much as it is a success that it finished Top 25, I think it is the second #1 song from Heats that we lose as early as now (first one was t.A.T.u. #27) but it's the highest and the last song from year 2008, so officially no more 2008 songs and as courtesy you'll find below the whole Top 11 of 2008 and where they ended up in finals!!!

And since we exhausted 2008 already, here is Top 11 for your review and their final positions in brackets.

1. Katy Perry - Hot N Cold 244 pts. (#25)

2. Rihanna - Disturbia 225 pts. (#80)

3. Alphabeat - Fascination 213 pts. (#48)

4. Coldplay - Viva La Vida 207 pts. (#55)

5. Leona Lewis - Run 204 pts. (#58)

6. Pink - So What 200 pts. (#31)

7. Britney Spears - Womanizer 176 pts. (#83)

8. Sam Sparro - Black and Gold 176 pts. (#73)

9. Britney Spears - Piece Of Me 171 pts. (#102)

10. Guru Josh Project - Infinity 2008 167 pts. (#105)

11. Rihanna - Don't Stop The Music 166 pts. (#41)

Looking at it I am not surprised it is the least favorite year...some in bottom 10 and majority ended in mid table!!!

Good result for Stereophonics.

I like Dakota but my fave of theirs is definitely their #4 hit in 2001 'Handbags and Gladrags', a masterpiece imo.

Just seen this, some huge surprises, bit sad Sonique- It Feels so Good left so early, also Justin's Cry me a River, thought that was a much beloved classic

Don't get how some people give a 0 to almost everything, then whats the point in taking part? If you hate this decade don't take part :D

24 Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone 8.06

Lowest score: 0 (RabbitFurCoat)

"Since U Been Gone" is a song recorded by American singer Kelly Clarkson from her second studio album, Breakaway (2004). The song, which was written and produced by Max Martin and Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, was released as the lead single from Breakaway two weeks before the album was released. It is an uptempo pop rock and power pop power ballad that infuses electronic sound with a mixture of soft and loud alternative rock sound. Martin originally wrote "Since U Been Gone" with Pink in mind but she turned it down. It was then given to Hilary Duff but she rejected the song because she could not reach its higher notes. The song was finally given to Clarkson after Clive Davis convinced the writers to give it to her.

"Since U Been Gone" was a commercial success. In the United States, the song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and in UK peaked at #5!!!

SUBG is essential 00's in my book. The perfect pop record.

23 Anastacia - Left Outside Alone 8.06

UK peak: #3

Heat Position: #3 (2004)

Highest score: 11 (Lewis, Shoat, gavindeejay, T Boy, Sarah, JosephStyles)

Lowest score: 0 (RabbitFurCoat, Jason)

"Left Outside Alone" is a song by Anastacia from her third studio album, Anastacia. Written primarily by Anastacia as well as Dallas Austin, and Glen Ballard detailing the singer's strained relationship with her estranged father. The song was released as the album's lead single on March 15, 2004, to both critical and commercial success. The song peaked at number one in Australia, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland; number two in Denmark, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Norway; and number three in the United Kingdom and Hungary, while overall it became the sixth-biggest-selling European single of 2004.

In this countdown it is the highest #3 placing, so yeah we already ran out of all #3's from the Heats!!!

those 0's from RabbitFurCoat and Jason's lol probably prevented Anastacia sole song finishing Top 20 :nocheer:

I should have given this vastly over rated song a lower score to stop it being top 25!

22. Keane - Somewhere Only We Know 8.08

UK peak: #3

Heat Position: #5 (2004)

Highest score: 11 (Chez Wombat, King Rollo, SevenSeize)

Lowest score: 5 (Jonjo)

At 22 is the one and only single featured in the final rate from English alternative rock band Keane. The song was released in February 2004 and served as the third single from the band's debut album Hopes and Fears. The single peaked at #3 in the UK - behind Busted and Sam & Mark lol - becoming the band's highest-charting single to date, along with their amazing 2006 single 'Is It Any Wonder?' which was robbed of a place in the final rate! :P 'Somewhere Only We Know' was notably covered by Lily Allen in 2013 for that year's John Lewis ad. Lily finally took the song to number one. While the song isn't one of my favourites, it is great to see its genre represented this high in the countdown. It isn't the last we'll see of the indie rock genre. :P
