13. Britney Spears - Everytime 8.20

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #4 (2004)

Highest score: 11 (...ready for it, Jonjo, Jay)

Lowest score: 2 (RabbitFurCoat)

At 13 is the penultimate Britney single to appear in this countdown. Finishing considerably higher than four of her other tracks, it is unable to prove more popular than 'Toxic' which is still in the running. 'Everytime' was released as the third and final fully-promoted single from Spears' fourth album In The Zone. It was officially released in the UK in June 2004 and entered the chart at #1 - giving Brit her fifth #1 and second consecutive chart topper. The song is an undeniable standout in her discography - understated, emotional, delicate, haunting... it is Britney at her peak in my personal opinion. #13 is such an incredible result for this.

yes at both of these

Of course originally I had penned Kylie's CGYOOMH as a contender for winning this whole thing tbh so I am little bit shocked it didn't manage at least a Top 10 placement.

Everytime is such a beauty, well deserved!!!

Toxic-Everytime is one of the best sequences of singles ever

12 Evanescence - Bring Me To Life 8.36

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #2 (2003)

Highest score: 11 (Rob S, Sarah)

Lowest score: 4 (Jason, JosephStyles)

At 12 we find "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence, recorded for their debut studio album Fallen Critical response to the song was mostly positive, with critics praising the melody of the song, Lee's vocals and their accompaniment by McCoy. The song remains one of the band's signature songs. Following the inclusion of "Bring Me to Life" on the Daredevil soundtrack the song became a commercial and critical success, topping the charts in Australia, the United Kingdom and Italy. It charted in the top ten in more than fifteen countries including the United States, Argentina, Germany and New Zealand.

It's truly a 2000's staple and so so happy to see it actually finished this high. It is also the highest song from the Heat 4 - 2003 :cheer:

11 Lilly Allen - The Fear 8.41

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #6 (2009)

Highest score: 11 (Chemistry)

Lowest score: 6 (Lewis, nightcrawler, troublepink, gavindeejay, )

And just outside Top 10 we have "The Fear" by English singer-songwriter Lily Allen from her second studio album, It's Not Me, It's You. The song incorporates electropop music as the lyrics articulate problems with celebrity lifestyles and include metaphors for recognised tabloid national newspapers such as The Sun and the Daily Mirror. "The Fear" topped the UK Singles Chart for four consecutive weeks, thus becoming the longest running number 1 in the UK of 2009, while peaking inside the top 10 in Australia and Ireland and the top 20 in several European countries.

It did amazingly well in this countdown and as you've seen the lowest score it received it was 6. Matter fact, it's one of the only two songs (still coming in later) that received nothing less than 6...even the winning song got lower scores :kink:

So Top 10 consist songs from following years:

2 x 2000

1 x 2002

1 x 2004

1 x 2005

1 x 2006

3 x 2007

1 x 2009

So it appears the most popular year it is 2007 with 3 entries in Top 10, followed by two entries from 2000!!!

and as an extra, here are the countdowns of the years (less popular :kink:) that we already used all the songs from (and in brackets their positions in final countdown):

All Saints - Pure Shores

Britney Spears - Toxic

Eminem feat. Dido - Stan

Lady Gaga - Bad Romance

Pink - Just Like A Pill

Pink - Who Knew

Rihanna - Umbrella

Robyn - With Every Heartbeat

Sugababes - About You Now

Sugababes - Push The Button

All Saints or Britney will probably win. I really hope that Robyn is top 5.
Yes at Pink getting 2 in the top 10!

11 & 12 both great, would never had thought The Fear could end up so high

Bring me to Life is a classic, should have been top 10 in her

rooting for Robyn & Stan

I have only just realised the line in The Fear "I look at the sun and I look in the mirror" is about the tabloids.  I always thought it was a weird line lmao.

I will kick off the top 10 tomorrow morning. :D

I got a feeling Robyn's With Every Heartbeat will win this and I probaby gave it its lowest score. -_-

Top 10:

females 95% x 5% male.

10. Rihanna feat. Jay-Z - Umbrella 8.44

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #2 (2007)

Highest score: 11 (Scene)

Lowest score: 4 (Rob S)

Kicking off the top 10 is the 2007 monster smash hit 'Umbrella' courtesy of Little Miss Sunshine herself and rap force Jay-Z. I am elated this has managed to finish top 10 as it is in my opinion one of the defining and most iconic pop songs of the entire decade. In my view, it is to the 00's what '...Baby One More Time' and 'Wannabe' are to the 90's, or what 'Billie Jean' and 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' are to the 80's. Basically any Noughties compilation worth the money should have this song on its tracklist. :kink: The song was formed in January 2007 by producers Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and The-Dream with Britney Spears in mind to record it. The song went through multiple rejections; Britney's team passed on it as did Taio Cruz's team despite the singer wanting to record it. The song was eventually caught in the middle between Rihanna and Mary J. Blige - thankfully Mary J's Grammy commitments meant she was unable to commit to recording the track and it was given to Rihanna. Released in May 2007, 'Umbrella' not only became Rihanna's first ever #1, it became the longest-running number one of the millennium at that point in time - staying at the top for 10 weeks! Rihanna's reign coincided with record rainfall in not only the UK but across the world. 2007 became one of the wettest summers on record, which encouraged the theory that 'Umbrella' cursed the summer. 'Umbrella' also became the first song to enter the charts at #1 on downloads alone two weeks before its physical release - a big deal at the time! The song is undoubtedly a pop classic and firmly put RiRi on the map. I'm shocked that I was the only one to give the song an 11. :o It did receive 14 10's though!

09. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance 8.44

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #1 (2009)

Highest score: 11 (Addy, Nina West, Chemistry, Rush, HausofGhibli)

Lowest score: -1 (Nick F1)

Now this is a shocker! Although a #9 finish is pretty incredible for any song since this rate spans the whole decade, I would have thought such a celebrated pop moment would finish at least top 5 on Buzzjack. :kink: 'Bad Romance' is Gaga's highest single in this countdown meaning she is out of the running to win the whole thing. The song was released right at the end of the decade in November 2009 as the lead single to Gaga's The Fame Monster and took 7 weeks to climb to the top - giving Gaga her third number one of both her career and that year. Along with five 11's, the song bagged 14 10's in the final rate and holds the title of the highest rated song to receive a -1!

Kinda surprising to see Bad Romance only at #9, clearly Adelita didn't vote ;)

Umbrella is ok for me, not bad but not amazing, I actually find it quite the silly song, especially the lyrics and the -Ella -Ella parts :)

08 Sugababes - Push The Button 8.45

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #4 (2005)

Highest score: 10 (Rob S, Addy, Nina West, Jester, Dannyboy, NickF1, Chemistry, Jay, UltraFolklore, JosephStyles)

Lowest score: 6 (RabbitFurCoat, troublepink, King Rollo)

Imagine having a song that is universally loved...well that's 'Push The Button' by Sugababes. As you see, everyone gave a score between 6 and 10, nothing more or less.

"Push the Button" became one of the group's most commercially successful releases. The single peaked at number one in Austria, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, and reached the top five across Europe and in Australia.

They still have their final song to appear which proves that Sugababes were the most loved girl group of the 00's

07 Sugababes - About You Now 8.59

UK peak: #1

Heat Position: #4 (2007)

Highest score: 11 (Rob S, Jonjo)

Lowest score: 2.5 (Scene)

And now here is the sixth and final Sugababes song in this countdown. 'About You Now' was written and produced by Dr. Luke along with Cathy Dennis and Steven Wolf. Upon its release, "About You Now" became the group's sixth UK number one hit and highest-charting single since 2005's "Push the Button". It remained atop the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. It also reached the top of the charts in Hungary, as well as the top ten in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Norway, and Spain. The Sugababes' highest-selling single to date.

It received generally favorable reviews from both music critics and fans alike and was noted a similarity to Kelly Clarkson's 2004 single "Since U Been Gone" (also produced by Dr. Luke), and the song was described as a "pop-electro-rock masterpiece".

Later on, Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove covered "About You Now", with additional changed lyrics written by fave BJ queen Jessie J :kink:. The original lyrics were slightly altered to be made more suitable due to Cosgrove's younger audience.

Double Sugababes reveal

I would have preferred the other way around but great results for the girls :cheer:
