Posted August 25, 20205 yr Hello all, tonight it's time for the final virtual concert event here in the Ariana AF! Ariana hit the road in 2019 to support her two latest albums 'Sweetener' and 'thank u, next'. The Sweetener World Tour began in New York on March 18th and concluded in California on December 22nd. Overall, she played a whopping 101 shows, resulting in a total attendance of over 1.3 million people across the whole tour. She played to around 450,000 more people than her previously most successful tour - the 'Dangerous Woman' set of shows. Security was understandably a lot tighter for this tour following the Manchester Arena attack during the previous one. Clear bags were mandatory and were even sold on her website as merchandise. Ariana wanted the tour to have an 'ethereal' feel to it and this came to life with the spacey staging. She performed songs from all five of her eras during the 'Sweetener' World Tour! There was a lot of chopping and changing between shows though - notable removals included 'One Last Time', 'boyfriend' and 'bloodline' during later shows. Fans who attended some of the shows in December were treated to a medley of 'Christmas & Chill' songs in addition to everything else. Ari's support acts for these concerts included 'boyfriend' collaborators Social House, plus either Normani for North American shows or Ella Mai for European shows. The tour spawned a live concert album called 'k bye for now (swt live)' and a 'Sweetener World Tour' movie is supposedly in the works - with Netflix and YouTube reportedly bidding for it. August 25, 20205 yr Author That transition from 'raindrops (an angel cried)' to 'God is a woman' is perfect :wub: wish that had been the case on the 'Sweetener' album! Or the former leading into 'no tears left to cry' maybe. Anyway, yay, we have my favourite Ariana song already *.* so excited to re-live this tour, the only one of hers I've attended!
August 25, 20205 yr It's weird hearing Raindrops without it morphing into Blazed. God Is A Woman is a great way to start :wub: All the table staging is so cool and this is one of my favourite tour outfits :heart:

August 25, 20205 yr Author The simple strutting choreography suits the sass of this song so well *.* this gets a mixed reception on BJ but it's definitely within my top 3 of 'thank u, next' :heart:
August 25, 20205 yr Love the Break Up... choreography with the chairs. Very hot! :o She was so much more confident on this tour compared to her others. Really makes me so excited for how crazy the next tour is going to be.

August 25, 20205 yr Author 'R.E.M.' has been on my mind lately due to the 'Sweetener' 2 year anniversary and being the name of her new perfume :kink: it has certainly grown on me over time but I'm not quite as fond of it as Ariana herself is (I don't think it's possible for anyone to like it as much as her tbh x)
August 25, 20205 yr I know REM isn't everyone's favourite but I do love it. Everyone screaming 'I love you' is a particular highlight. Another one of my favourite tour outfits. Those boots look crazy. I'm not sure how anyone could walk in them, nevermind perform a show.

August 25, 20205 yr So happy Be Alright is still being performed. The little dance routine is brill and such a feel-good song to hear live. :heart:
