I did really enjoy Jamie's dance and he is such a joy to watch, however when you look at how good Ranvir's AT was, especially for this stage of the competition, and you see her getting less than him....Just a joke, the scores are practically arbitrary at this point. I enjoy that it's close and unpredictable, but that's a few times this series now where the marks have just been silly on a few accounts now.

 

Clara wasn't great but she was definitely undermarked, they seem to be SO harsh on her compared to others. Caroline was RIDICULOUSLY overmarked, at parts she was practically walking, I love her and I'm glad she's enjoying herself but no. I know it's a Saturday night entertainment show and we need dances like Caroline's and Jamie's, not just a sea of traditional Waltzes or anything, but in terms of scoring, it's just laughable to see Caroline supposedly on the same level as Ranvir's AT in Craig's eyes and Jamie as a 10 in Shirley and Anton's eyes. I'm not saying street dance is lesser than anything more traditional on the show, but it's definitely an easier style to come across well on the show, it's always a fun, energetic routine that shows character and personality which ofc is perfect for someone like Jamie.

 

Caroline and JJ bottom 2 hopefully, I wouldn't be shocked if Clara avoided it as everyone seems united in thinking she's been treated unfairly. I think it could be Caroline/JJ actually, but then I'd not be surprised at any of them bar Jamie and Ranvir being in the bottom to be honest, it could even be Bill as he's in that dangerous scoreboard middle ground.

I disagree entirely with the comments re: Jamie, I thought he was absolutely fantastic, couldn’t fault a single thing he did, I actually think he should have got 30 and don’t understand the 9! Maybe for Karen’s slight hiccup in her solo breakdance but aside from that it was exactly what I was hoping for.

 

Ranvir however... I was expecting far better from what was actually delivered. Was still worthy of 7s and 8s but not a 10 at all. Could see stiffness and distance between her and Gio at times and not as much drama as there should have been.

 

I do think that Caroline was worse and sadly yes Clara was the worst of the night, and while I’d rather JJ be there (overmarked again too even if he was better than last week) I’d assume it’ll be Clara and Caroline, in which case I hope Clara turns it out because as lovely as Caroline is, Clara has soooo much more potential.

 

Just... not Maisie this time please.

She gets very negative tweets and bad press too. It’s a shame though she’s really good and I personally don’t even get a cocky vibe from her.

 

I think she was unlucky to be on early on in the show and then the tie on the leaderboard too. I had a feeling she might’ve been in it again.

I honestly don't get the cockiness thing. She only ever seems excited to be there and willing to learn/get better? Totally baffled tbh :drama:

 

 

Unfortunately, with Maisie before the show even started I had a feeling she wouldn’t go down well with the public. She’s had past training, she’s female, attractive and young. There’s always one contestant every year who gets a hard time usually a female and it just happened to be her this year.

 

There’s just a lack of appeal where she’s likely not going to get better and there’s more investment with the other dancers in terms of them having more of a story / emotive impact.

 

But I do feel for her. She is a teenager after all. Hopefully she’s getting support from family / her friends from EastEnders.

I’m rather sad to see Caroline go. She was giving the whole competition her all and her complete joy to be there was just so nice to see and her willing to learn and taking onboard all the critique too. She was one of my favourites off personality I just could tell she was just loving the whole experience so I’ll miss her.

 

Johannes went at a similar time when he had Catherine didn’t he (although the competition was longer that series)

 

Maisie must feel really disheartened now. Hopefully she bounces back and doesn’t let it get to her. Gorka I think will help her out this week and will try and keep her spirits up. He also had two dance offs in a row with Alexandra too didn’t he.

 

I’m very glad Clara made it through to next week though. JJ getting through as well is great to see I always knew he’d get public support so I was confused at him being rank outsider to win in week one. I still think he’s a potential dark horse for the final!

 

Clara!!! Yas queen. Poor Maisie though, she must be polling last and just can't recover it even when her dance is better. She's not even cocky or unlikeable... It's always a young woman, she's the most consistent and probably best dancer of the lot and I just don't see at all where it's coming from. Does being eager and young make you cocky now??

The Couples Choice routines almost always go down well and get praised and send that person through to the next week without a dance off. In future I’d much rather they have it as it’s own week where everyone who’s still competing that week does their routine on the sam show in the way we get Blackpool week and Halloween etc.

Poor maisie, I think it's a personality thing as she comes across possibly over confident to some but I think she had toned that down in the last 2-3 weeks.as a dancer there is no way she is anywhere close to bottom 2.

It always really bugs me when people complain about overmarking (DigitalSpy are terrible for this) because like the judges are there, are able to see the footwork and etc - in Claras case the marks seemed to be quite generous in relation to their critiques but they obviously could recognise her effort whilst I personally found the dance awful to watch.

 

I think Maisie must be so deflated now; her dance was great!

I'm torn on this, I kind of agree as it is frustrating when it is much easier to get off a couples' choice and achieve higher marks but I think it's done pretty fairly in that its up to the pro when to pull it out, it's kind of a trump card to have a big moment with. Do it too early and you may have peaked too early, but if you leave it and you leave on a bad Samba, you missed the chance to have that big moment and potentially get some momentum.

That’s a good point there though Liam! I mean Nicola has gone now but she seemed to do hers earlier than anyone I’ve ever seen before.

 

I wonder if Maisie will do hers next (has she done hers yet?) I feel like if anyone’s due a moment it’s her. She’s consistently pulling off good routines and she scores well but she needs that moment what translates to a vote surge (or just to top the leaderboard without any ties so she has a dance off free weekend next week :lol: ).

I feel they have been giving the couples choice out to the lowest scoring (public wise) so that everyone will get one.

Nicola and Max ending up in the dance off the week after their couples choice (Caroline 2 weeks after hers).

Bill is the obvious exception here but I feel that the public support has been growing for him so he very well could have been mid-low in the public vote in the first two weeks.

Jamie has been in the dance off before and one more bad dance and I can imagine him being there again.

 

This is from OK Magazine so the accuracy of what she said might not be 100% but this apparent brief interview Maisie gave isn’t gonna win over new voters is it.
