September 17, 20204 yr Not sure this amounts to much, im afraid. It's just the twitter account benig excited about a Spice Girl collaborating with a new upcoming artist...
September 17, 20204 yr I think it's an achievement. Admittedly I've not listened to the radio for years. But 1Xtra used to play less mainstream music than Radio 1. To me, it's the cooler cousin. For an artist like Melanie C, who was previously so mainstream, to be creeping back into favour with a more 'upcoming artist' station... it's a good sign. If 1Xtra plays her new music, maybe other stations will be influenced to follow suit. Edited September 17, 20204 yr by McAndrew
September 17, 20204 yr I was thinking of not listening to this until the album release date (to have more songs to look forward to when listening to the album), but I couldn't resist! I really like it, it's chill and laid back. A very different vibe for Melanie! It's great to hear her experimenting with different styles, it keeps things interesting... in that sense it's like a Northern Star album throwback. Fearless makes me think about where Melanie could have gone as an artist in the 2000s, if she'd continued to be diverse like that album, rather than rigidly sticking to middle-of-the-road pop/rock for years. I'm appreciating how Melanie is using her vocals in this era, it's very controlled and there's light and shade to it - I like her softer sounding vocals. I enjoyed the video too. I know not much happens in it, but it's well shot and maintained my interest. Melanie had sooo many samey videos during her years as an independent artist, but this era she's changing it up each time. Bring on the album, 2 weeks to go :cheer: Quite a bit of media coverage for Fearless: @1306258557004853249 @1306312401118167046 @1306161118696615936 @1306164852562558976 @1306275630435233795 @1306207408621002752 @1306218473954193408
September 17, 20204 yr OPh Gooooood that the video was done in the UK instead of the rumoured LA. I was thinking that flying so long to do a video would be hyper irresponsible
September 17, 20204 yr The streaming is also, well, not great tbh When is it ever? She needs the type of campaign that Who I am had... even that didn’t get a chart placement 😭
