Will this be eligible for Best Single? Would love to see it get a nomination but i dont know how possible it is as its probably not sold enough..
I believe it would be, yes. But that usually goes to the 10 best selling British singles of 2020 (so, 'Break Up Song' is more likely to be nominated than this - if it does get nominated, but I *think* it just missed out :( )

EDIT: Hopefully someone a bit more clued up on it all can help/iron the BRITs stuff out a bit aha.

I really doubt the tour will go ahead now. Lockdown could last months, even then they wouldnt have time to rehearse. They were due to have a show in Leeds the night of the brits I think

The three of them can easily rehearse for the Brits and just do a remote performance. But also the Brits have been shoved so far back the date probably isn’t even concrete.

Re: the single. The single criteria used to be 600k+ sold in the eligibility period I think? But then with sales so low I can’t see how they’d be doing that. It’s #1 should help. But I can see MNEK and Joel getting the best single award either way.

If the 1975 get the award AGAIN over Little Mix it’s a fix. it’s riggamorris girl!!

Yes it's usually the top 10 biggest selling singles by British artists, excluding repeat artists. The list this year could look like this:

Lewis Capaldi - Before You Go

Joel Corry feat. MNEK - Head & Heart

Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now

Stormzy feat. Ed Sheeran & Burna Boy - Own It

Harry Styles - Watermelon Sugar

S1mba feat. DTG - Rover

Aitch & AJ Tracey feat. Tay Keith - Rain

Nathan Dawe feat. Jaykae - Flowers

220 KID & GRACEY - Don't Need Love

Young T & Bugsey feat. Headie One - Don't Rush

Though it'd depend on what they do with Before You Go, Don't Start Now and Own It which were effectively 2019 carry-overs! Don't Start Now could get swapped out for Physical. The next few eligible would be Becky Hill's Better Off Without You, Headie One's Ain't It Different and Paul Woolford's Looking for Me. Also depending on whether they'd let AJ Tracey get a Dinner Guest nomination as Rain might count more as an Aitch track...!

In summary, I wouldn't expect a Little Mix nomination unless they change the eligibility period due to the delayed awards show this year.

The Weeknd is International solo male!

 shows how up to date I am

I wonder if there will be some kind of category for Sam Smith or if they just won’t use them? (Sorry going off topic!)

I think they'll combine Male + Female to just Best Solo Artist tbh, there were discussions about it last year from the Brits

MNEK vocal breakdown of Sweet Melody this was really cool !

That was cool! So basically Jesy's and Perrie's involvement was minimal :P

That was cool! So basically Jesy's and Perrie's involvement was minimal :P

Perrie more so, but her voice, whilst really good, lacks that strong agility that Jesy, Leigh & Jade have when doing runs, which is probably why Perrie gets the bigger belts whilst they do runs. So I'm not shocked she didn't do more background vocals for this song.

Jesy's lower harmony in the chorus though >>>>>

Number 1 on first look with only 250 sales separating them and Ed Sheeran but I think Olivia Rodrigo might take it by Friday

Idc about Olivia overtaking... a 3rd week of being above a new Ed AND Bieber track... I WANT IT!!

Omg... I think they'll fall to 3 or 4 by Friday, but the prospect of Olivia and LM being 1 & 2... yes plz!!

I think they’ll stay ahead of Justin and Ed for #2.

Ok gonna make a prediction, this is gonna be the longest reigning top 10 hit by a girl group ever! (Well from the past 25 years at least) I think Never Ever by All Saints holds the record at 15 so far.. 6 weeks to catch up

ACR will say no to that, but hopefully it can avoid ACR at least once more!
SM is so Iconic I wish they'd release signed trio physicals :(

It’s at least going to be their longest running top 10 right? Is it their longest running top 5?

Also, the ACR convo- its 10 weeks from release but if it gets reset, how long does it have before going back?

It works on the basis of it declining for 3 weeks in a row (after 6 weeks in the chart)

So if declines 2 weeks and then increases in streams it'll be reset back to Zero weeks of decline.

It's increased in streams this week again surely, so it'll still be on zero weeks of decline needing to decrease in streams for 3 weeks in a row again.

I'm sure I've way overcomplicated it but hopefully that makes sense.

Oh okay. I think I get it. I’m sure it can blag its way through the top 10 for another 5 or 6 weeks(?)
