Wasn't Harry nominated last year? (Honestly the timelines & the process into how they're eligible confuses me aha)

Just checked and yes he was, and ironically lost out to Stormzy and then went on to have a much more successful album era than Stormzy. Although having said that Lewis Capaldi was also nominated how he didn't win I don't know!?!? (And I don't even particularly rate him personally).

Well it's based on what they deem to be the "best" rather than who's the most successful (not that I agree with their decision there )

I know and I also disagree, it really should be most successful. Then again some amazing acts have won that weren't the most successful I guess.

It’s weird since the US has the Billboard Awards for just that. We should have something similar here.

I feel like the Official Charts should have their own awards (to rival the Billboard awards) but I feel like it would all be fan voted and low-key to appeal to engagement metrics rather than awarding genuine chart and talent success.

Most award show (sans the prestige  ones) have fan voted categories. Official Charts should award based on sales equivalent metrics like Billboard used to in the early 2000s..

Should do!

Should do!

Excellent!

This holding strong in the top 5 at #4 and would likely have been #3 had Ariana not released a remixed single version of '34+35'... amazing stuff! :o
Coming for longest running top 5 hit!

Singles

1 Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license (59.7k)

2 Anne-Marie, KSI & Digital Farm Animals - Don't Play (20.3k) *

3 Ariana Grade - 34+35 (16.3k)

4 Little Mix - Sweet Melody (15.3k)

5 Ed Sheeran - Afterglow (13.6k)

Looks like we're safe for top 5 again this week as they've widened the gap between Ed since yesterday.

4 women (well... 4 female oriented acts) keeping Ed Sheeran off the top spot is kinda... amazing?

I hope this can end up in the top 40 singles of this year...Since they arrived on the music scene...The last two years they haven't really dominated...(often due to singles being released late into the year)

Nova FM seem to be hammering this here in Australia at the moment.

It sounds so great in the summer sun.

That's great to read. I wish we got 'Sweet Melody' fresh in the Summer, but I'm sure we will be hearing it this Summer when (if) the world is free!

Nice to see it's maintaining well in the Australian iTunes chart! Hopefully will hit the streaming charts soon!

Yrs it’s the most I’ve heard one of their songs on the radio in a long time. Break Up Song got a fair bit of plays but not like this.

Yes, streaming is the only thing hold this back I think. Hopefully Spotify picks up for it.

It literally just needs a Hot Hits add there. I think the girls should promote this worlwide this trimester somehow. It's their easiest hit in a good while.
