The Xmas chart is its 9th week so if it’s falls that week and the 2 before it’ll already be on ACR on the New Year chart and will need to get enough for a reset that week unless I’m miscounting

So in the midweeks yesterday they're still only 1.1K behind number 1? I know Mariah will overtake it but it's still INSANELY close.

 

 

Keep in mind that New Years Eve streams won't be counted this year cause its a Thursday which might mean less resets for ACR songs (but on second thought I doubt they'll even be high at all this year seeing as no one will be going out)

 

Even if it does go onto ACR and stays there I think its fair to say its still outdone pretty much everyone's expectations

I guess it's a long shot, but releasing the physical on the 1st (when they're reset) rather than the 25 would be the best plan. I know the NTFT one is likely out on the 8th.

The Christmas song really gonna push it down, any other time of year and it could have possibly went number 1 or 2.

They are preforming Break Up Song on Strictly, a performance of BUS will fingers crossed go down well with the strictly audience and generate album sales, SM has had lots of tv performances and done a great job in the charts, I for one am happy we are getting a TV performance of Break Up!

Break Up Song is absolutely perfect for the Strictly audience, which is more about selling albums than singles and a Break Up Song screams "go buy the album" more than "go stream the single". Sweet Melody is having a few weeks downtime at the moment due to Christmas songs, so throwing out a Break Up Song performance on one of the biggest album sales weeks of the year is a wise move than performing either of the other 3 singles, and it helps that the song will be very familiar with the audience - it's the 7th biggest airplay hit of the entire year.
