I think as of now Little Mix would probably take it, but Kylie is usually everywhere in release week and as we saw with Golden, doubled her sales from the start to the end of the week. Combined with her loyal fanbase and the Glastonbury effect I think she might take it all said and done, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Little Mix do it either since they’re really fighting for it.

LMs streaming numbers will be big - the album is at number 3 on Apple music already

I think they have this one now

People pay way too much attention to the apple music album chart, I'm not sure how it is compiled but Melanie C was top 30/40 for all of her release week and I'm sure wasn't even one of the top 200 albums from streaming sales that week.

Little Miix got 9000 first week album stream sales last time around compared to Kylie’s 1800. I imagine that Kylie has more presales given how long it’s been on sale for, so that could dent that lead considerably. I think a lot is going to come down to promo on the week, though I would expect Kylie to be ahead in the first midweek update.

I don't know the exact numbers but Kylie and little mix have only between 500 - 1k in it in terms of pre-orders now. I'm not actually sure who's in the lead but I assume it's Kylie still??

Still looking to be a close one!

I don’t even think this is any sort of battle now.

Little Mix have utterly killed it with these new songs, the albums at 3 already on AM.

They have The Search performances, EMA’s etc...

I think they’ll do 10/15k more than Kylie now.

Little Mix have 5 songs out for that Apple Music Album position

Kylie only has 3. Hardly a fair comparison.

Kylie has G Norton on Friday and a Global world stream on Saturday

I too think Little Mix will take it but we really don't know yet. could be tight, could be a run away, could be a surprise.

BMG have worked hard on Kylie streaming and I would hope her streaming of the album would be better this time around than Golden and a lot of Kylie fans have premium accounts on Spotify etc which could help a little

Any source for these pre orders? How do people know all these figures from record companies?

Yeh it’s an important release for LM

Just remember Kylie is an independent label and using BMG for distribution. Little Mix have a major record label behind them

Could count.

I’m calling bullshit on this, no one would know the ore sales of 2 completely different record labels.

To me, Amazon pre orders and hmv pre orders could have guesstimate but from Kylie website /Townsend music and Little Mix website who would know? All we heard from Kylie BMG camp is they were happy and ahead of Golden at a certain point, that may not be the case now but who knows

Exactly, no one has a clue and people who say they do are talking shite

Unless you work for those companies and leak stuff but hardly going to do that if you want to beat the competition.

Exactly, you may know one but you wouldn’t know the other with it being a totally different label

While this is true, Kylie licenses the music she owns via her company to BMG, who are effectively her label. She’s not an independent artist but rather a label artist with her own licensing agreement and the ownership of her material. It’s really no different to Beyonce with Parkwood for example. It’s in BMG’s best interests for her to succeed because they’re making profit off of it, and they pushed Golden and Step Back in Time to huge heights. That’s why Roisin signed a similar subcontracting deal with them and had the biggest sales she has to date because BMG put her in the right places (Graham Norton etc.)

Kylie will for sure be promoting hard come release week but I’m sure Little Mix will be doing the same, so it’s still difficult to tell where things will end up. Website sales are also much harder to establish than iTunes/Amazon etc, and you just know additional formats are going to pop up for both artists. I could see it being a neck and neck battle all week.

365 does have insider knowledge. I imagine getting pre-order info is no different to how insiders receive midweek info.
