Kylie’s management chose the worst week to release her new album, they couldve released it at any other week from January till late October ( except Gaga week) and it would have been an easy number 1... they decided to go ahead in a battle they know they will lose, and even Ariana’s second week sales might be a threat to her...

my predictions : Little Mix 50-55 K Kylie 30-35K ....

she should’ve brought the release date forward to this week or the next, she stands zero chance now...

If the preorders are that close I definitely don’t think Kylie stands zero chance, and certainly not a 20k discrepancy. Also she announced her album much earlier so it’s not really on her to move around the record, which is a desperate move. I’m sure she’s not fussed about the possibility of coming in at #2 or less. If Little Mix come in at #1 it’s because they wanted it more and have worked bloody hard to sell the album, so good on them.

Honestly whichever ends out on top, They both deserve to be 1 and 2.

Kylie has managed to keep a dedicated fanbase for years and years as has Little Mix.

What I love about this battle is both are worthy, I prefer Little Mix and want them to get it but I appreciate that Kylie works bloody hard too.

In fact both acts really put the work in.

u cant really compare... Kylie has been an internationally renowed pop star legend for 33 years selling more than 80 million records worldwide, while Little Mix is a manufactured girl group created by Simon Cowell a few years ago as the female One Direction without any major success outside their home country...

How do you know Kylie will lose for sure? Have you got a crystal ball? I think she will do better than 30-35k. Her last Golden sold more in its first week than your current prediction and that was in April and not Q4. If Kylie doesn’t win, it will be closer than you’re predicting I think. Kylie has done well on preorders and her fans will go all out to support her.

It’s not fair to compare the two since Kylie has been going for much longer. Little Mix have outlasted so many girl bands and are still going strong with a dedicated fanbase behind them, even after the split from Simon which could have been their end. And if it is a numbers game, they’ve sold 50 million records which is an amazing feat considering how long they’ve been going. We don’t need to knock one down to build up the other. They’re both great artists.

Sorry but the length of time in the industry doesn't depict how hard someone works.

BOTH work really hard, therefore both are worthy of a #1 album.

You can't deny Little Mix have worked BLOODY HARD to get where they are, seeing all sorts of Simon's acts fail or get dropped.

Was Kylie (well, her label) even aware that LM were gonna release that week? (And I doubt either of them knew about Ariana, but even then I'm not sure second week Ari will be a threat atm)

Also, he's not comparing Kylie to Little Mix, wth? He just said that they both deserve to be #1 coz they've kept/built their fanbases for years and years (and he's not wrong?)

I'd personally like LM to get it (ofc) mainly coz a band's career together is shorter lived, so for all we know this would be one of the last few chances for LM to get a 2nd number 1 album. I LOVE Kylie's record though if she were to get a #1 album (a #1 album across 5 decades or w/e it is) but this wouldn't be a last chance for her as I'm sure she'd easily get another #1 album in the next 2 years or so. But if she gets the #1 (I think she will) that'd be such an amazing feat.

Kylie booked her release week and based promo around it. She doesn't move her release week that I know of ever.

BMG like you say make money the more sales they get. They have gone for sales rather than chart position. They have big acts all the time trying to get sales in a difficult year.

There are releases popping up all over the place.

I just hope she can maintain a good level of sales and promo up until Xmas.

I was very confident Kylie would win comfortably, but now I'm much less so. I actually think the majority of the public are even aware of Kylies singles or the albums release, her and her label really need to pull their finger out. A global livestream is going to be for fans only, and Graham Norton is a great slot, but it's not enough. I would expect her to perform at some stage of the week on the one show, but not sure she will get the coveted strictly slot due to Graham. But we shall see. I'm predicting 50k openings for both of them, roughly.

I’m calling bullshit on this, no one would know the ore sales of 2 completely different record labels.

I won't share anymore info then. I apologise.

Kylie has got the pre orders she will get from her loyal fans.

No point promoting on TV etc until release week now to be honest or the week before. Casual fans don't pre order and buy bundles. The promo could get lost weeks before

She will have Strictly later in November probsbly, J Ross, The One Show etc.

BMG will want impact from 6th November onwards. They have released vinyl singles of Magic and Say Something etc to fit in with the campaign

It is not Kylies fault she doesn't get added to streaming playlists, to commercial radio stations etc

That's why she may be seen as not promoting. But she has done plenty of interviews etc.

The global stream is good. It gives her material she can use to promote the album later on, on YouTube etc to sell the album. She is also charging £16 a ticket so all income. Lot of fans could watch a Kylie concert and then decide to buy the album so it could pickup sales. Plus I would not be surprised if she does an offer of buy a £16 ticket and get £2-3 off an album/new format from 6th Nov (so far she did buy and album and get discounted ticket)

I'd like to keep hearing the information. From what I remember you've been accurate? Don't see why you'd make it up. And we will see whether you're right/close when the numbers come in anyway.

Also it's not like you're saying exact numbers and passing them off as fact. Your info doesn't cause any problems imo.

Lol it was just said that whoever wins will deserve it as both work very hard and someone already started diminishing LM for being manufactured etc as if there was a huge variety of formation methods for pop groups... :drama:

They're both great female pop acts and whichever wins (if it is indeed either of them) will be a triumph for different reasons.

Besides you can't really compare a pop group's career's length to a solo act's one, it's two completely different scenarios.

Have a feeling this isn’t even going to be close anymore.

Going on the hype for both records I’m going to predict:

Little Mix (51k)

Kylie Minogue (33k)

I hope I am wrong and that Kylie can get higher numbers than I’m expecting.

I remember how the release date of Light Years got moved back a week to avoid Madonna, and then she kept it off in her second week. :(

I won't share anymore info then. I apologise.

Please do carry on sharing the info - some just don't like hearing the truth it seems!

They prob think the midweek info people get is rubbish too.

Edited by shindymindy

365 does have insider knowledge. I imagine getting pre-order info is no different to how insiders receive midweek info.

But midweeks are reported to 1 place so it’s easy to know. I doubt very much that someone knows the sales from 2 different companies.

That’s like Netflix sharing viewing figures with Amazon Prime, never gonna happen 😂

Doubt it all you like, it's happened

No I don’t actually and that is all collated through 1 company so it realistic that someone can get that information. My point is that 1 person would not be to get sales data from 2 completely different companies.
