Yeah if they both sell a little over 50k as projected, they could quite easily have the top 2 weekly sales of the year so far. Which makes them being released in the same all the more frustrating!

Both artists are on 23 - 24k in preorders now and are projected to do approx 50k

This pretty much confirms they do

Bruce Springsteen had 37.6k in the first miss, he ended up selling 51.8k. I don't think 25k of pre-orders take especially Kylie to 50k yet. Little Mix might do it with stronger streaming.

Kylie doubled her sales from the first midweek with Golden from 24k to 48k.

That 37.6k for Bruce includes three days of sales as well as pre orders.

Ariana 13.5k

Sam Smith 12.9k

Cliff 10.9k

Kylie could have released this week and won hands down 🤭🤭

It's all about sales at the moment in q4.

yes she chose the most difficult week....

I can see why Kylie's team chose November 6th to release, assuming they were aware of what albums would be released when way back in July. It would be too risky to go ahead the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Ariana Grande and AC/DC, whereas it was perhaps assumed Little Mix would prove less competition due to coming off the back of arguably an underperforming album. Obviously Little Mix have turned it around big time since then.
I’m pretty confident Kylie has got this in the bag !

I'm not even sure they knew LM were releasing! I'd probably say what you just described, was probably what went through LM labels minds aha. I assume Ariana definitely wasn't announced or even spoken about at the time where Kylie's album went up for pre-order, whereas even just rumblings and murmurs in the industry around the time LM put their pre-order up, was probably enough for them to delay until the week after (Ari has a v similar fanbase/target market and obviously AC/DC were going to be ones to avoid at ALL costs).

This is the first time LM have had as many multiple formats and bundles available. So they knew they had to up their game up against Kylie, I think.

I'm excited to see what numbers they can both do though. Should boost weekly sales up quite a bit I imagine, even with retailers shutting. I've held off on some LM formats (I want a cassette) in the hopes that they both get into a discounting battle and reduce their stuff! (I've secured a signed album from Amazon, but I'm ready to buy some more aha)

P.s. I'm predicting Kylie's team to reduce but LM team won't budge, which is gonna infuriate me! Especially as their cassettes are expensive compared to what the likes of Kylie and Dua are doing/have done them for! (On top of that ridiculous P+P price!!) :arrr:

EDIT: Also I am AGOG at the amount of votes in this poll :o I've been on this site for nearly 13 years and I don't think I've seen a poll have so many votes!?

Yeah maybe it was that way for Little Mix instead, I was unsure how far in advance people in the industry were aware of what will be released when, presumably much earlier than when the release dates are made available publicly.

It's definitely an exciting time to be a pop fan if you take this all as a bit of silly fun. It's not often we get these big chart battles anymore and I assume both acts will end up selling more in their first weeks than they would without the battle. I can definitely see both surpassing 50k which is fantastic for both acts. The cherry on the cake is that both albums are probably going to be among the best releases of the year and perhaps even of the respective artists' careers (for me at least) - what more could you ask for!

Let's try get Kylie over 35-40k first please 😜

None of this 50k dream yet until we listen to the album and see how people react in midweeks, even with good pre orders lol.

People were saying 60k for Ariana and 50k for Sam so....

Difference is we actually know how Kylie and Little Mix are performing on pre-orders. I can't see them only adding 10k to their first week sales.

Those pre order numbers I believe include all preorders so not all of those will count towards the UK chart...

I’m sure that’s the case from the official websites of LM and Kylie so potentially there’s a few thousand to come off each.

So you are saying Kylie and Little Mix both have 23-24k of pre-orders and you are going to only take 2k off each for international pre-orders? that cannot be correct.......

i think Golden had 24k pre-orders in UK so i suspect Disco should start at least over 20k

This poll is very interesting! I swear at first it was like 80% Kylie but it seems the votes now are going to Little Mix which is making it closer.

What an exciting week. I think next week will be one of the most infamous / famous weeks on this site tbh. The Friday Chart Predictions thread is already looking iconic.

Haha I know LM and Kylie in one week, imagine Ariana was thrown into the mix too, BJ would be in meltdown
