November 30, 20204 yr What an absolutely incredible few days!! We've been completely blown away by the reaction to our new album so far, and we could not be more grateful to all the Steps fans who have listened, downloaded, bought, shared and supported What The Future Holds! 💜 We've just found out that the album is VERY close to #1 in official midweek chart update which is absolutely incredible, so THANK YOU We've seen you asking, and yes - we're super excited to now have signed vinyl copies of the album available exclusively on the Steps Superstore! We also wanted to create some fun digital-only editions with you to share some extra goodies we have up our sleeves, including acoustic versions of What The Future Holds & Something In Your Eyes, brand new remixes of some album tracks, the choreography-only edit of the Something In Your Eyes video and THREE never-before-seen live performances! 👏 These are available individually for £4.99 or together with other formats including the Signature Party Pack bundle which includes a signed vinyl and signed CD.

December 4, 20204 yr Steps: What an exciting week!!! HUGE thanks to everyone who supported our new album #WhatTheFutureHolds 💜🔮💜 Because of our incredible fans we are #2 in the @officialcharts UK album chart... Congrats to our friend @GaryBarlow on his number one! 👏
December 4, 20204 yr He smashed it, well done Gary. Wish Steps had got the same promo push that he received, I'm not totally sure how Steps have benefited from BMG tbh? Might as well have stuck to independent.
December 4, 20204 yr Steps put in a good battle considering their promo was what i felt very low key.
December 5, 20204 yr It’ll certainly be interesting to see both the top 2s sales next week as there isn’t a huge amount of completion now until McCartney II is out on Xmas week.

December 5, 20204 yr They still ended up with a no2 album which had bigger first week sales than their last in a declining market during lockdown! Sorry to be pedantic, but What the Future Holds sold slightly less in the first week than Tears on the Dancefloor! 37,624 - Tears on the Dancefloor 37,394 - What the Future Holds It's fair to say that both albums had very different conditions to achieve such similar sales: Tears Better promotion, more hype due to it being their comeback with a proper studio album, CD was purchasable alongside concert tickets Formats: CD (+ signed), vinyl, download Future A long pre-order period, Q4 release, released during lockdown, low-key promo, CD and download price cuts, bundles Formats: CD (+ signed), vinyl (+ signed), pink vinyl, picture disc, 6 cassettes, download + 2 digital versions with bonus content
December 5, 20204 yr ^^ Tears benefitted from having 6 x CDs (Group and solo album covers) which were signed - they should have done the same this time rather than the cassettes.
December 5, 20204 yr ^^ Tears benefitted from having 6 x CDs (Group and solo album covers) which were signed - they should have done the same this time rather than the cassettes. That was with the re-release later in the year though, these comparisons are regarding the first week sales! Though I agree, doing signed individual CD covers would have been more beneficial than unsigned cassette covers. Kind of surprised they didn't sign some solo cassettes to give a boost.
