Wonder is released on 4th December, meaning it'll chart on 11th December. That's very deep into Q4 and the Christmas market!

How well do you think the album will do? Vote in the poll and feel free to reply to the thread to give more specific predictions for the position/first week sales!

His previous releases:

Handwritten - #12 (April 2015 - 5,278 first week)

Illuminate - #3 (September 2016 - 15,554 first week)

Shawn Mendes - #3 (June 2018 - 23,419 first week)

These are some of the album sales from the equivalent chart week in 2019 (13th Dec 2019):

1 Rod Stewart 44,776

2 Robbie Williams 44,065

3 The Who 43,511

4 Michael Ball & Alfie Boe 27,322

5 Lewis Capaldi 27,263

23 Kylie Minogue 7,234

27 Jack Savoretti 6,311

39 Roddy Ricch 4,620

The release schedule is looking pretty bare for 4th December at the moment, but of course that could all change in the upcoming weeks. Here are some other albums scheduled for then:

Grandson - Death of an Optimist

Paradise Lost - Draconian Times (25th Anniversary Edition)

Shed Seven - Another Night Another Town

Yeah I think he should easily be able to manage top 5 (hopefully either #2 or #3), but can't see a #1 happening!

Hopefully it manages to debut at #1 in the US though, because that would mean all four albums will have, and add another record! *.*

Is that likely to be big competition? I’m not well versed on how Arctic Monkeys albums perform!
Arctic Monkeys studio albums are absolutely huge... a live album won't do as well but even doing half as well as their usual standards would probably put them above Shawn
Well, as per my last comment that was edited, this album won’t do very well as Wonder has flopped pretty much everywhere whereas Senorita was a huge smash.

At least one single from the very beginning of an album campaign reaching #21 (while also being a top 5 hit in other countries such as Canada where I assume it'll matter most to Shawn, with more singles yet to come that could still smash and propel the album itself) is definitely better than #33, #78 or #86 for the majority of a singles run...

Like I've already said, if you have zero interest in actually supporting Shawn or adding any value to conversations with whatever criticisms, please find somewhere else to post, because you certainly aren't doing either of those.

‘Wonder’ the single is mindnumingly dull, he has to have better lead singles on the album surely. :( I predict the album will open between #2 and #5 with about 21k sales due to his fan base but I can’t see it having longevity, especially if the campaign is as short and confused as poor little Self-Titled was. He won’t have a Camilla-style bomb at least!

If we’re comparing to Ellie then I can’t see this selling as well as ‘Close To Me’ in the long run. And Shawn won’t get a #1 album like Ellie did. Or a #1 single Just saying :selena: It’s both their 4th albums as well, which feels strange!

There was.... nothing wrong about my original post? It’s not unreasonable to say that this is at least one of the biggest flops of the year? Going from one of the biggest singles of the decade to not even going top 20.... is more than just a bit of an underperformance.

Why are you bringing Ellie into it? Close To Me, the actual lead single, was a worldwide hit with 500m streams on Spotify? It only had a low peak due to the Xmas songs above it... Close to Me and Hate Me have also sold pretty well. But anyways, this isn’t about Ellie.

Anyway... steering things back to the topic at hand.

Surely a top 5 (or 3?) won't be out of the question completely even with Arctic Monkeys added into the mix? Unless I'm underestimating how some of the above are likely to perform?

For no particular reason, I have a #6 feeling about the album... hopefully I'm wrong and it'll manage Top 5!

Hopefully you are wrong :kink:
