He’s a good casting for Sonia’s dad tbf, they definitely seem believable relatives. And Sonia getting a duff duff hiding under the table

You just watch Bernie lose ‘the weight’ in a month. All she needs to do is take that coat off.

Definitely, I like to see what he is going to bring, I can see him getting close to Kathy at some point.

It’s amazing what can happen when they focus on better characters/stories. I’m really enjoying Sonia’s story, it’s very true to her.

And the writing for Katie and Frankie has been amazing. As someone who was once friends with an abuser and found out after the fact, I can completely relate wit Frankie in all of this. I’m glad they’re highlighting the pain that she is going through.

And well worth it. This has been one of the best handled storylines since the post Covid return.

The writing for Shirley is more bitter at a continuous level which I don't like.

This aside, it was a strongly delivered episode.

I'm finding myself warming to Phil and Kat as a couple the more they're on screen together. It shouldn't work but it does?

Bravo to them also approaching FGM too.

I wish they’d stop giving Kathy these dumb lines. She’s an intelligent woman and it was quite clear what Milla was hinting at.

I agree, i think they actually really work as a couple.

And exactly where did Kathy and Mila go for the couple of hours it took for her sister to disappear? Talk about lacking a sense of urgency.
Apparently there's some "is this the beginning of the end?" news coming at midnight..

If it's not Mo's exit storyline I don't want it

For a 3 week period while the Euros are on, they're putting all episodes on for that week at 6am on Monday on iPlayer.

Twitter seems to think that like the reduced runtime, it might be that this becomes a permanent thing and could be a nail in the coffin for the show.

For three weeks while the Euros are on and schedules get disrupted, episodes will be released at the start of each week on the iPlayer as well as being aired on BBC1!

(oops Liam beat me )

Oh I am here for this. It means I can watch it all at once on a Monday haha

And of course Twitter is kicking off without reading the full article and not understanding that it's only for 3 weeks

It was only a matter of time until this happened, I bet this will end up being a permanent feature and will just drag the ratings down further. "Beginning of the end" is quite fitting, although I think the end has been approaching for a long time now,.
