DOES NO-ONE CARE THAT ACTUAL GUNSHOTS WERE REPORTED?!

I suppose a gun gets waved around the square every other week so I shouldn't be too surprised by people's nonchalant reactions.

I see Karen was told to play sad in last night's episode (that 'sad walk' she did behind Billy and that extra was particularly unconvincing). No doubt she'll be cackling away in tonight's edition.

I guess it depends which universe tonight’s episode is set in. The one where Chantelle dies or the one where she never even existed.

They've really went out their way to try and make every character very annoying / unbearable haven't they? I'll honestly be surprised to see if they can pull ratings back to 7m+
This. Protect Kathy and Bobby, the rest can perish.

Suki must also survive. I’d also probably let Stuart and Rainie too.

If we get even one more scene of Kathy trying to get the family back together for Ian and then realising again that he’s a scrote, I swear...

Ha, it's impressive when they can achieve 5m.

Oh yes Stuart and Rainie too, I thought I was forgetting some. Suki maybe if they gave some sort of depth. It's fun seeing the Twitter-meme stuff but I need to know the person behind this.

Maybe all the shows that has been screened so far since September its part of a dream sequence played out by Ian... Ian needs to wake up.
Surely it has to be Sharon and Phil working together to get back at Ian ? no one else has a strong enough motive to actually kill him.

They’ve managed to rule out so many characters with those dodgy flashbacks. A flop whodunnit.

The whodunnit is a huge flop, very few care.

It has to be Phil and Sharon working together.

HOLY SHIT

Sonia is actually getting a storyline in 2021

Omg I was really enjoying those old photos (awkward they couldn’t get a genuine one for Chantelle tho oops) until they did the ‘twist’ which came off pretty lame.

Seeing Abi again made the episode, I liked Ben raising his glass which was a nice touch. This Ben was never on screen with Abi but it still felt natural.

I’m sure Danny Dyer will eventually get an award for that ‘acting’.

And I’m relieved because I’m pretty sure Pearl hasn’t been recast but I’m amazed how big she is now.

Sharon's involvement in Ian's attack was surely confirmed with that look of utter hatred she gave him when he talked about his boys

I'm looking forward to seeing how things play out. EE are normally in a different league when it comes to their Christmas episodes so I'm trying to be optimistic!

Probably the most decent episode for quite awhile, if only for the fact some things actually developed.

I don't understand the point of this Billy/Honey/Jay storyline though. What's it going to achieve? Honey and Jay are never going to be together; it seems inevitable she'll end up back with Billy and then there's always going to be this elephant in the room as far as Jay is concerned.

I actually enjoyed the scenes between Mick and Linda, but it's definitely all down to Kellie Bright's fantastic performance. It should never have gone down this affair route as an abuse storyline should be able to sell itself, but Kellie has done a great job in finding some sort of truth in this terrible writing and, as a result, I totally understood Linda's point of view. I don't believe she would fall for Max though; she's an intelligent woman and has lived on the square with him for years, she knows he talks the talk and convinces women into believing something is real when it's not. He's that good at it he even believes it himself.

The montage of old photos was much better than I was expecting it to be. They all looked quite natural, as if a character genuinely took them, even the official promo pics. Denise's reaction to Pat was a lovely touch and I'm quite shocked the team remembered she had anything to do with her. The twist was lame though. "Rip Ian Beale? Rip him a what?" Fuck off. Kim's not an idiot. Yay for Pearl though!

Finally, that choir was fucking awful.

P.S. Tina's gonna die.

If I'm thinking correctly, with a flashback episode tonight its going to reveal some added scenes from the period when EE was off-air, which we could be seeing Dotty that would explain her absence. That scene last night with Ian talking about his boys, and Sharon's face really said it all and Phil is on it as well.

The only thing what I find odd why did Max buried that award if that was used to hit Ian with.

I think the producers need to axe Billy and Honey, there is nothing else they can add to the show, it seems they have passed their sell by date.

The problem with the whodunnit is that Sharon was handed a massive motive right early on in the year and everyone else’s seem lame in comparison so it was never going to be anyone else.
I know he's an iconic and original character and they'd never do it, but part of me wants them to go for a shock and ACTUALLY kill off Ian
However shit the rest of it has been, I'm obsessed with camp mafia queen Sharon
