I’ve barely thought about this over the weekend, apart from replying to people on here. Not a good sign.

Ratings for tonight's episode are going to be terrible - a clash with an hour-long episode of Corrie, which has a half-hour lead and is the beginning of their 60th anniversary week...
And I just had a thought could Dotty actually be in Walford and laying low waiting for an opportunity to bash him, its been bugging me for a while just to tease the viewers. lol

That felt really badly written and edited. The acting wasn’t up to much either but then I’m not sure what they could do with those scripts.

They are constantly giving Gillian Taylforth terrible speeches to act out.

This storyline to me honestly just feels like they cobbled it together post lockdown when they realised they didn't have anything, it's very poorly done. I just don't care either, the suspects are either stupidly obvious or shoehorned in, there isn't any of them where I feel that it being them would be a particularly interesting development. It's all really contrived, forced and hammy, Ian has always been unlikeable but they've hammed up every aspect of that and every aspect of people's beef with him just for this damp squib of a storyline which really is about as intriguing a whodunnit as the infamous "Who's shagging Kat"

Still sticking with Calum or Bobby for the culprit. If it's Bobby, I can see Max taking the blame as some sort of full circle moment.

I know, I don't understand why the writers conjure up these random backstories when 1) we don't care and 2) there's things that has happened to Ian on screen that Kathy could have referred back to, like when Ian crashed his car, was shot, tried to commit suicide etc.

I think it's gonna be Bobby or Peter, Max taking the blame for Bobby sounds very likely actually. Bobby having anything to do with it would probably be the most disappointing option, undoing all of the character development he's had since Clay took over the role, so that sounds about right :drama:

This!!! tbh I'd take "who's shagging Kat" again over this

There is no scope for her to return, at least not until Raymond is much older.

She was Gavin level evil as well. We were told about how awful she was but we never really saw any of it.

Why would Max take the blame for Bobby though?

I guess after last nights episode it rules Kathy out. Is this expected to drag out?

I'm sure Mica is a lovely person but she does symbolise everything I'm hating about EastEnders right now. The acting is maybe the worst it's ever been, the scripts are cliched or outright terrible, the characters are empty vessels there for the sake of the plot, the people representing the show in the media are so delusional about the quality of what's on-screen and there is absolutely no care or consideration about the show. There appears to be big budget issues going on yet they fanny around with special effects and incidental music and bring in 'stunt' castings whilst axing loyal, familiar faces like Max, Kush and Tina. It's an absolute joke.

Because Max knows that Bobby wouldn't be able to cope being back inside. It doesn't make much more sense, I know, but what on this show does?

It absolutely sends me they're actually like Mica Paris is Beyonce or something  If she was that good then they should have cast her properly in an actual role, not one to give Denise a storyline. Stunt casting at its worst, a flash-in-the-pan plot device for a plot where nothing much has happened anyway, and it's not even a big name or anyone anybody cares about, with the greatest of respect to Mica Paris. Denise having Raymond back, a child of Phil's, could be interesting, but Phil seems to have just given up anyway and ofc Denise has storylines coming up anyway so it didn't really need to happen, of course it depends how things transpire though.

We’re supposed to find out on Christmas Day :drama:

And I wouldn’t be surprised if they did another flashback episode.

What even is this nonsense if Sharon says yes?

Just watched last night's. Sharon is looking guilty as sin, I guess she could have been in on the attack but not the one that actually did it?

As if Jack and Callum would allowed to be on this case.

Not even a flinch from Kat when Phil said someone tried to kill Ian. There's absolutely no heart in the writing anymore.

At least we're getting more Kathy content.

If it is Sharon, it would be very out of character. We've seen time and time again Sharon likes to get revenge by hitting someone in the wallet not physically.

Having said that, with the state of the writing, it probably will be Sharon.

Or she might have stabbed him. She seems to have developed a penchant for that this year, despite losing the actual love of her life to a stabbing.

She married him. :manson:

I actually can't believe what I just watched. This is such a character assassination on Sharon and what an absolute farce that Sharon has divorced and married on the same day. Is that even legal? What does it matter. Anything goes in EastEnders. Fuck realism. Fuck character.

I think (hope!) she's playing him and by christ does he deserve everything he gets! Hoping she knows the truth about Denny at last. I wonder if we are going to get more flashbacks over Christmas to her finding out? Maybe..?
