Midweek #76

Lots of positives, streaming sales up 200% and already outsold Spiceworld vinyls whole release week in 3 days.

The negative, downloads have fallen off a cliff and costing it a fair few places in the chart.

So keep the streaming up as its doing great and anyone on the fence to download or download for another site it would really help.

Do we know any numbers so far? How do you know what impacted its chart position?

76 isnt bad though! Do we know how it faired with Spiceworld? It didnt enter the chart in the end, but what about the midweeks?

Spiceworld was #91 on the Monday midweeks and that was March when sales were a fair bit lower.

It's doing well but its sales could tail off and downloads sadly already have.

If anyone is on the fence about ordering a vinyl, 2nd vinyl or downloading then do it asap. Also keep streaming as it is pretty impressive to have risen streaming sales by such a margin.

Yikes! OK thanks. I hope we manage to stay in Top200 by Friday then :cheer:

Streaming is much better so continue streaming as much as possible if you don't want to buy another copy.
It probably needed to be higher today than 76 today today to stay top 100, it should at least get the album another 1k sales though,

Keeping everything crossed that it stays in the Top 200! Staying Top 100 is unattainable unfortunately. Unless 600 more people suddenly decide that they want to own the album on vinyl lol.

Sales are falling off on Amazon, anyone considering a 2nd copy to keep the sooner the better ordered would be good!

Also keep streaming

It's so frustrating, it probably "only" needs to sell about 150 more copies to scrape into the Top 200, which feels like such a small amount considering how large the Spice Girls fanbase is (there's over 1000 UK residing people in the Spice Circle Facebook group... even if only 50 of them committed to download it, it would really help). It seems that there's simply not enough fans willing to buy it on vinyl or download, or that care about the chart.

Oh well, I suppose it's nice that it's managed to sell more than Spiceworld did earlier this year, plus it should at least make the sales chart, the physical chart, the vinyl chart and possibly the download chart.

any idea on sale numbers ?
Come on UK Spice fans, where are you?

If the girls themselves barely do any promo for it other than a couple of tweets, most people won't even know about it... The last post the group's own accounts did was on Friday. Nothing ever since.

Plus, it still baffles me that they kept the original cover when it was so maligned in the first place, but changed the Greatest Hits one for that horrible cover even when that had so many complaining about it at the time lol...

Ah well, we have it and we have been streaming and enjoying Forever all over again. It gained somewhat a new life over the past couple of months, with more awareness of it and with fans and critics revisiting it.

I love the fact that we have Forever on vinyl. It's a great, great development in Spice World that most of us never believed it would happen. This is the great news. But if the girls themselves barely care about sales, then the fans (other than the rabid ones), wont care much either. Some of them wont even know that the vinyl is out at all...

I honestly don't know why they don't keep their social media promos throughout release week AT LEAST! Not even going to talk about promos that they could do outside social media, but that's another story all together.

Exactly. Be active for that week and then go quiet again if you want (either solo accounts or the official SG one) but no.

Having just one post on social media on its release day isn't good enough :teresa:

So this! I am a huge Steps fan and I have seen all 5 individual accounts and the Steps account posting about the album and it's different formats on a daily basis... and it's not even out yet! While Forever gets one insta post from 2 members and the Spice Girls account during release week then that's it.... It's ironic seeing as the girls wrote all their own stuff while Steps don't write theirs yet the effort is just on a whole other level.

The lack of effort from the girls is such a shame. Would it be so difficult for Victoria to show some appreciation to one of her albums? Disappointing that Mel B hasn't acknowledged it either.

Forever has returned to the iTunes Top 1500 at #611, so I guess that means 1 or 2 more sales!

The girls could definitely do more but it's chicken and egg because so could the fan base.

I mean for a fan base the size of the Spice Girls 150 sales to guarantee Forever charting on Friday should be a breeze. £3.99 on itunes, I mean it's the price of a Costa coffee

Forever up to #430 on itunes, anyone on the fence this is the time to download, especially on itunes keep that going up and getting more exposure.

Climbed as high as #187! Slipped back a little to #195 and then #196. Hopefully it can improve in the morning.
