The top 10 kick starts with a song that increased it's average but falls a couple of spots, due to 2 new entries! It's their 3rd single and 2nd from their debut album DNA. For the first time ever, I think this has received a -1! Which is a shame! It's utter perfection. Those synthy pop hooks with those entrancing choral moments, complete with a Leigh rap as the middle 8. I really like the Sin City-esque video too. It was an alright hit, perhaps should've been bigger, but it's a fan fave!

At #09 is the power ballad Secret Love Song. This is one of the girls biggest hits and it's one of my favourite pop ballads since The Saturdays' 'My Heart Takes Over' just a few years before. It's stunning and somehow gets even more special the more time it's played or performed. Had a huge increase in average going from 8.32 to 8.65! But unlucky for SLS, it has 2 new entries above it, so it ends up being a non-mover! Great song and one of the ultimate girl group ballads, imo.

Up next is another track from 'Get Weird' and it's the 2nd single, Love Me Like You. It's generally a well regarded fave amongst the fan base, but it seems to get overshadowed a lot, still. It's a retro-pop banger. I'm still convinced it's in some rulebook of girl groups that they must release a 50's/60's doo-wop inspired pop banger as a single. The video is fantastic and is one of their very best.

Tbh... I wouldn't be so sure about that lmao! :kink: But ultimate!! Sorry. LMAO.

Three great (and very different) songs that show their incredible range and definitely belong in the Top 10 ...but not in the Top 5! So all good for now.. now just crossing my fingers for No More Sad Songs to make the the Top 5!

‘DNA’ has never been one of my favourites, still a good song but just not one I’ve really gone back to you but that is probably because it was on the first album which was probably their weakest.

 

‘Secret Love Song’ is brilliant even if not my favourites of the ballad. I actually liked the Jason Derulo feature. Part II is obviously better and one of their best songs. In another life, it would have done a ‘Read All About It Part II’ and smashed.

 

‘Love Me Like You’ is one of their best IMO. Instantly feel good when it comes on. Dissapointing that it only reached #11 but was perhaps still a bit overshadowed by how big Black Magic was at the time. Does seem to be one of those that isn’t as well remembered by the general public.

The career saving anthem is next as we lose the 4th and final 'Get Weird' song in the rate. It's the lead single Black Magic. There is no consistency to this track and how it performs in the rates lmao! It's an absolute pop belter though. It's very easy to see why it did so much for their career and they were extremely fortunate to have got this at the time they did! One of their best videos too!

Wow DNA didn't deserve to go just yet! I was kind of expecting it though.

 

I have everything crossed NMSS isn't out at #6, I'd like for it to get top 5 and preferably of those remaining for Break Up Song to drop out next, guess we will see.

Now onto their biggest album as we lose No More Sad Songs from their 4th album 'Glory Days'. This was an immediate fan favourite from the album ad served as the perfect song to sandwich between 'Touch' and 'Power'. I can take any of the versions, but I have a MAJOR soft spot for the MGK single version. It's an absolute anthem and I am so happy Buzzjack have taken to it so much. With a .37 increase in average, it seems to be gaining more and more fans with each passing year. SO good. It's an ultimate mood lifter for me. My favourite song of theirs.

'No More Sad Songs' has placed at least 10 places higher than it deserves.

 

I am really pleased with the Top 5 although I wouldn't have put 'Break Up Song' in the Top 10.

They've had so many great singles but still nothing can top the electrifying glory of 'DNA' for me :wub: watching mash-ups of it on tour with 'Lightning' made me love it even more. Much love for 'No More Sad Songs' too. 'Secret Love Song' and 'Love Me Like You' are both pretty good if not total favourites. Glad 'Black Magic' missed the top 5 :kink:
