Christmas Day is on Friday this year so expect the Christmas songs to appear prominently in the first chart of 2021.
Ah, I see those Amazon Alexa tricks are working already. Disappointing.
Wonder will Scott play all the Xmas tracks if they hold up? Don’t radio rarely play Xmas songs before 1st December and Friday will be the 27/11.

McFly holding up much better than I thought, fully expected them to be out of the Top 50 already!
Is it just me or are there a lot more live albums making the top 40 compared to a comparable period last year? I'm guessing that this year has meant less studio albums coming to fruition, leading to some artists raiding the archives for material.

I haven't counted but it feels like that to me too. Maybe there's a bit more demand for them when people can't see live music in real life.

Of course i might also be that declining album sales mean live albums - which tend to be a fan purchase rather than appealing to casual listeners - are able to chart higher on similar sales.

Hoping Dua Lipa’s live online concert gives Future Nostalgia a nice boost next week.

The lead single from Side B is expected in Jan btw.

The Bonus Edition of Future Nostalgia and vinyl of Club Future Nostalgia are also being released on Friday! Hopefully the album can return to the top 10 again :w00t:

Its going to be a close battle for the chart positions 10-20 this week......

any little bit of promo gives boosts.

I’ve lost complete interest in the singles charts since the advent of streaming but I do enjoy following the album charts particularly in the run upto Christmas. The singles chart is just boring, predictable and has a lack of movement. Bring back the exciting days of the 80s and 90s when the singles chart was worth listening to!

Charts are meant to be a ranking of popularity so predictability is a virtue of a good chart. Seeing not-so-popular songs unpredictably chart high due to charts allowing sales gimmicks is the actual issue.

What "sales gimmicks"??

To be fair, I think it's a lot better now than it was in 2016/2017. That really was a hellish period for following the singles chart.

But yeah, I do miss the old days a lot.

By and large, these days my only interest in the singles chart is tracking all those Xmas songs.

So apart from Xmas, I rarely follow the chart.

For me, there's a lot of good stuff out there, like The Punch Brothers or Connan Mockasin, also plenty of recent and past World Music that's great.

Hi huns.

I agree the single charts were better years ago. Anyway.

I am excited to see where Kylie is today in albums chart midweeks and how far away she is from top 10. Hopefully she can climb closer. Shame she doesnt have major promo this week like other artists a head of her in the charts. :(

Thanks my huns

Just Carol

Taylor is dropping a new documentary on Disney+ tomorrow about her album so that should bouy her sales this week and next.
