Even with an added feature, I feel like it's quite rare for a post-album single to go top 5? Watermelon Sugar and Shotgun of course both come to mind instantly...!

Biography

Wes Nelson

22-year-old Staffordshire born Wes Nelson has just released his brand new single, See Nobody. A glossy, confident, effortlessly charming track that is centered around a ridiculously melodic hook, written by Wes and produced by Ayo Beatz [Fredo, Dutchavelli, Young M.A]. Featuring rap star Hardy Caprio, the super smooth Afrobeat-meets-R&B single brilliantly showcases Wes’s considerable talents as a vocalist and songwriter. - Spotify

Hardy Caprio

Croydon rapper Hardy Caprio (born Hardy Tayyib-Bah) gained early recognition for his work when he was nominated for the Get Rated award at its inaugural ceremony (its aim is to celebrate new talent). Caprio grew up in Croydon, South London, as did grime star Stormzy, but he went to school in Bromley, a more well-off area of South London. His dual existence showed him that the drama he experienced in Croydon could be avoided. He began putting out his own music, which resulted in the EPs Hardy Season and The Hollywood EP.

His vital moment came with 2017 single "Unsigned," landing at #45 on the U.K. charts and garning tens of milions of streams online. Pushing into 2018 with a run of singles, the rapper found notable success with March's "Rapper" (charting at #34) and July's "Best Life," the latter peaking at #26 with its summery afroswing influences. With his name firmly established in the U.K. scene, Tayyib-Bah moved from strength to strength in 2019. Kicking off the year with "Unsigned" (charting at #70) the rapper soon found his biggest hit to date with the DigDat-assisted "Guten Tag": quickly becoming a staple on U.K. playlists, the back-to-back braggadocio landed at #18 on the U.K. singles chart. A further collection of singles - including reflective piano-ballad "9 Months" and a series of collaborations with artists from SL to T Mulla - saw the rapper through to mid-2020, ahead of the release of his debut mixtape. Titled With My Eyes Closed, the tape featured key tracks like "Guten Tag" and "Best Life," alongside collaborations with One Acen, Wretch 32, and Maleek Berry. - iTunes

I LOVE 'Levitating'. It's one of Dua's best and one of the best songs of the year. I didn't think it would go Top 10 after it stalled in the Top 20 for a while.
So pleased Levitating is doing so well though I do prefer the album version. Such a shame Hallucinate did so poorly in comparison. Equal in quality for me.

Biography

Little Mix are a British girl group formed in 2011 during the eighth series of the UK version of The X Factor. They were the first group to win the competition, and following their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music and released a cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball" as their winner's single. The members are Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson.

Little Mix released their debut album DNA in 2012, which peaked inside the top 10 in ten countries including the UK and US. This made Little Mix the first girl group since the Pussycat Dolls to reach the US top five with their debut album, as well as earning the highest debut US chart position for a British girl group's first release, breaking the record previously held by the Spice Girls. The group's second album Salute (2013) became their second album to debut inside the top 10 in both the UK and US. Their third album Get Weird was released in 2015. Their fourth album Glory Days (2016) became their first number one album in the UK, and also achieved the longest-reigning girl group number one album since the Spice Girls' debut album 20 years earlier, and the highest first week UK album sales for a girl band since 1997. In the UK, the group has earned four number-one singles, including "Wings", "Black Magic" and "Shout Out to My Ex".

The group won Best British Single for "Shout Out to My Ex" at the 2017 Brit Awards; they have also received several other awards during their career, including two MTV Europe Music Awards, two Teen Choice Awards and two Glamour Awards. As of August 2018, the group has achieved four platinum certified albums and sixteen certified singles in the UK. Little Mix appeared on Debrett's 2017 list of the most influential people in the UK. - Wikipedia

Biography

When singer-songwriter Billie Eilish feels something new, the first thing she does is take out her phone and write it down. “You can write anything,” she told Apple Music in an interview for the Up Next series. “You can say the truth, and you can not tell anyone that it’s the truth—you can just write it, and it’ll be yours.” Raised and homeschooled in Los Angeles by actor/musician parents, Eilish (born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell in 2001) started writing songs when she was around 11, exploring a strain of melancholy, minimal and slightly surrealistic pop influenced as much by Lana Del Rey as the radical honesty of rappers like Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. Writing and recording with her brother—and producer—Finneas O’Connell at their parents’ house, Eilish released dont smile at me in 2017, followed by an ever-evolving series of singles—a prime example of the fact that, in the streaming era, artists are now free to move directly from their bedrooms into the spotlight. Despite the attention, Eilish is doing her best to stake out a space of freedom and fluidity, expanding her range of collaborators (Vince Staples, Khalid) and dodging easy definition. “If people think I have a sound, if people are like, ‘Oh yeah, her sound is this,’ if someone asks you what my sound is and you have an answer for them—you’re wrong,” she told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “Instead of trying to find a sound, when I want to make something and when I have an idea of what I want to make, I’m just going to make that.” - iTunes

Biography

Armed with a mesmerizing, nimble soprano—and a vocal register often likened to Mariah Carey’s and Christina Aguilera’s—Ariana Grande began her career as a child star on Broadway and Nickelodeon before transforming into a pop and R&B powerhouse. Instantly recognizable thanks to her signature ponytail, cat ears, babydoll dresses, and breezy self-confidence, her slyly sexual personal brand has, like that of the Spice Girls before her, become an iconic image of young female power. But Grande is more than a symbol: Over the course of several albums and scores of hit singles—beginning with 2013’s “The Way” (featuring Mac Miler) through The Weeknd-assisted “Love Me Harder” and “Break Free” (featuring Zedd)—she has consistently outshined her male collaborators and deftly parlayed her stardom into activism. An LGBTQ advocate and outspoken feminist (“I’m tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man’s past, present, or future PROPERTY,” she tweeted in 2016), she uses her platform to confront issues like misogyny, sexism, homophobia, and bullying, spreading a message of love over all. Nowhere was this more clear than in May 2017: After terrorists attacked her concert in Manchester, England, killing 22 and injuring hundreds, Grande continued her tour. "Perspective changes your life,” she told Beats 1’s Ebro Darden. "You want to stay in the moment and try not to give into fear, because obviously the whole point of finishing the tour was being there for my fans. You want to set the same example and keep going.” And that she did: Her Max Martin-produced smash “No Tears Left to Cry,” an escapist dance-floor triumph released a year after the attack, sends a message of hope and healing, with a dose of hear-me-roar attitude. - iTunes
