Wham! do seem to get closer to Mariah as it gets closer to Xmas, weren't they ahead on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day last year, or the year before. They need to put out some limited editions vinyls and cassettes one year on a quiet week to try and edge past her officially.

They were ahead of Mariah on Christmas Day’s streams by about 5,000 streams.

didn't Last Xmas get a boost last year cos of the movie?
Mariah is once again nearly 100k down compared to last weekend. I expect that to stabilize over the week itself however

Shane Codd now #10 on HHUK and Paradise is back to #1.

 

I honestly hate some positions on HHUK - Tick Tock's spotify performance has been ridic for a song that didn't perform amazingly.

^they moved Willow up on HH, a tiny bit from like #40 to #38 :/ no comment :/

 

they added a bunch of new songs but all quite low, the Liam Gallagher Christmas-sy track,

Rudimental's song (Be the One), the Juice Wrld/Kid Laroi song and the Kid Cudi song with Skepta/Pop Smoke

They released a white vinyl 7” last year for the 35th anniversary

The 'Last Christmas' film must have helped a little but the impact is the same this year as its on Sky etc. Yeh Wham were only ahead on xmas day and 10k nearly behind officially last week, so needs quite the boost to help them!

Yeh noticed it had overtaken 'Santas Coming For Us'!

Christmas songs still down week on week but up year on year, I'm still hoping Mariah and Wham break their 2018 records for biggest single day numbers on Xmas day.

I think its clear now though that lockdown was helping quite a lot with their streaming so I'm not sure if they'll get so high so early again next year
