Biography

Michael Steven Bublé (/ˈbuːbleɪ/; boo-BLAY; born 9 September 1975) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actor. He became a naturalized Italian citizen in 2005. He has won several awards, including four Grammy Awards and multiple Juno Awards.

His first album reached the top ten in Canada and the UK. He found a worldwide audience with his 2005 album It's Time, and his 2007 album Call Me Irresponsible which reached number one on the Canadian Albums Chart, the UK Albums Chart, the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart, the Australian ARIA Albums Chart and several European charts.

Bublé's 2009 album Crazy Love debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 after three days of sales, and remained there for two weeks. It was also his fourth number one album on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart. His 2011 holiday album, Christmas, was in first place on the Billboard 200 for the final four weeks of 2011 and the first week of 2012, totaling five weeks atop the chart, it also made the Top 5 in the United Kingdom. With this, Christmas became his third-consecutive number-one album on the chart. To Be Loved, released in April 2013, was preceded by the release of the lead single and original composition "It's a Beautiful Day". "Close Your Eyes" followed, and "After All" featuring Bryan Adams was performed by him as a UK exclusive and posted on YouTube in late September 2013. - Wikipedia

This has fallen FAST by 2020 chart standards (although I expect it will bounce back after Christmas). I remember the early noughties when this would have been a good run

I sometimes wish chart runs were swifter like this so we could have more tracks in the chart! I suppose it's getting pushed down artificially quickly due to Christmas. I reckon it still would be top 20 otherwise.

I actually do say xmas and so do my family haha, not all the time just as a joke really.

Ahh Holly Jolly Christmas, one of my faves :)

buble xmas songs are massively overrated imo

Biography

The Plastic Ono Band is a band formed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1969 as a vehicle for their collaborative and solo projects.

Lennon and Ono had begun a personal and artistic relationship in 1968, collaborating on several experimental releases. Following their marriage in 1969, they decided that all of their future endeavours would be credited to a conceptual and collaborative vehicle, Plastic Ono Band. The band would go on to feature a rotating lineup of many musicians, including Eric Clapton, Klaus Voormann, Alan White, Billy Preston, Jim Keltner, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, and Lennon's former Beatles bandmates George Harrison and Ringo Starr. After the Lennons' move to New York, they began collaborating with Elephant's Memory, under the moniker of the "Plastic Ono Elephant's Memory Band". Lennon's collaborations continued under similar names, until the winding down of the concept in 1974.

Since 2009 (following the death of Lennon in 1980), Ono and her son Sean Lennon have led a new incarnation of the group, known as the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band, which has engaged in many new activities. - Wikipedia

I wonder which demographic streamed Michael Buble?

Middle aged white women

I'm a fan of the Bublé! I think he has mass appeal across the age groups tbh!

Is it wrong to admit that I love the 'Christmas' album by Michael Buble? It's inconsequential fluff but I have to listen to it every year in December!

I didn't expect John Lennon to be so high. I had thought he must have missed the top 40.

The deaf?

thank you very much! :teresa:

I sometimes wish chart runs were swifter like this so we could have more tracks in the chart! I suppose it's getting pushed down artificially quickly due to Christmas. I reckon it still would be top 20 otherwise.

Me too. I’m here for Mariah today (literally and in the stanning sense) but the slowness of the chart these days bores me stupid.

Ugh I really can't stand Bublé, hold/lift music at its finest.

Same. His version of Cry Me A River is the worst ever too (don’t @ me)

I'm a fan of the Bublé! I think he has mass appeal across the age groups tbh!

I know plenty of younger people who like Bublé! I expect many young people in particular have been streaming his Christmas songs, especially when you look at the other artists who have popular Christmas songs. Demographics kinda go out the window when you've got Shakin' Stevens coming for the top 10 in 2020!
