Really poor start for Gordon Ramsey's Bank Balance - 2.7m on Wednesday and 1.9m on Thursday.

We're still yet to see how it did last night up against Gogglebox.

Thursday night ratings were poor all round - Bank Balance actually won the 9pm slot with just 1.9m...eek. It's going to be a long 3 weeks for BBC One.

Most watched programmes of 01-07 February 2021:

01. Death in Paradise (Fri) - 8.51m / 8.63m

02. The Masked Singer - 8.37m / 8.44m

03. Death in Paradise (Thu) - 8.27m / 8.38m

04. Coronation Street (Mon 19:30) - 6.56m / 6.66m

05. Six Nation's Championship - 6.36m / 6.50m

06. Antique's Roadshow - 6.11m / 6.13m

07. The Repair Shop - 5.97m / 6.00m

08. BBC News - 5.92m / 5.94m

09. Emmerdale (Mon) - 5.58m / 5.64m

10. Countryfile - 5.37m / 5.39m

The Drowning (Mon) 5.09m / 5.15m

It's a Sin - 2.06m / 2.18m

Fantastic for The Drowning and Channel 5! That's higher than All Creatures Great & Small which reached a high of 5.02m / 5.04m with devices). That grew to 5.44m / 5.49m after 28 days, slightly under Channel 5's all time best of 5.63m for Euro 2000 Qualifier: Poland v England. Can The Drowning break that record?

Full ratings for The Drowning:

E1: 5.09m / 5.15m

E2: 4.60m / 4.65m

E3: 4.23m / 4.29m

E4: 4.41m / 4.46m

Average: 4.58m / 4.64m

Those figures for The Drowning are extraordinary, particularly as the plot had almost as many holes as it had viewers!

This week must have been the first time there's been three consecutive nights where the top 9pm programme didn't pass 2m.

Channel 5 even won the slot on Tuesday and Wednesday!

It will be interesting to see how Harry & Meghan's interview with Oprah rates on Monday night given the best bits will be hammered into the news all day. But also it's been so long since we've had so much promo for a TV event like this - it's literally been a headline on all main news outlets for at least the past week. You can't ask for better promo of a TV broadcast than that?

Anything less than 5m would not be great given how much ITV have allegedly paid for the rights to broadcast it.

I have no idea what to expect to be honest. I do agree that anything less than 5m wouldn't be great for ITV but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case. Also wouldn't surprise me if it's extremely high!

Wow! Even with the hype and build up, that's more than my upper end of expectations. And even more impressive considering the rating in the US was just over 17m (which obviously has a much bigger population).

i think ppl just needed a phillip ESCAPE

Big brother could easily match or beat the ratings of the circle final if it was still around.

Not sure, the last episode of BBUK got 1.01m and that was the final BARB rating - The Circle is higher just on overnights!
